Been doing Aya for a few months, 8 doses done. Recently did a Q21Q21 fluffy white funfest extraction.

Measured 30mg on a scale that only does 0.01 increments (0.001 scale on the way), but added tiny flakes of the DMT freebase until it just popped 0.03.

Inexpertly rubbed the freebase into the steel (bleurgh) ball of a The Machine that was constructed earlier. Read that one should melt the stuff on, but for some reason couldn't get head round how to do that.

Loaded The Machine with freebase on the upper side of the mesh (farthest away from flame).

Coached wife a bit on supervision, then lit up (electric lighter but not torch, torch coming soon). Blew all the way out then held flame about 3 inches away from the mesh and started inhaling slowly and evenly.

Held it in for about 30 seconds (not sure though). A few seconds in and started to get strong OEVs overlayed on normal things. Energy patterns, some geometry. Saw unusual 'energy veins' in arms (like in Alex Grey pictures). Rushing sound and high pitched whine getting louder. Everthing starting wiggling and waving.

About 30 seconds of holding breath, had to breath out because lungs were 'itchy' (made one remember that breath was being held in first place). Coughed a bit and lay down on bed with eyes closed. CEVs were very strong, very vivid.

Firstly there were 'visions' - lots of spinning shapes within shapes, mad patterns whirling and folding in on themselves revealing more patterns. Some quite 'cartoony' or 'designy' rather than 'fractaly' (hard to describe). Similar to some Caapi+Chaliponga experiences that have been had.

Then there was some kind of top/isometric view of a 'computer gamey' 3D plane, with 'robotic' weevil creatures wandering about on it. They seemed interested in the viewer and started waggling their antennas. Other stuff was seen but it has been forgotten.

Could tell it was wearing off because some child-like entities were 'pushing down' on the top view of this funny world, making it recede. They were indistinct entities but one could make out hands and faces pressed against the glass, and they were known to be grinning playfully.

About 3 minutes in (according to wife), opened eyes and sat up. OEVs still there but not as strong. Walls waving and so on. This receded quite quickly.

Described everything to wife. Waited a few minutes and then fired up again from the same dose to see what was left. Got relatively mild OEVs, which was taken to mean that most of the original dose had been vaped. Saw a 'sacred geometry' pattern overlayed on the bed (the one with the interlocking circles) and the walls were popping in unusual 3D ways.

As a non-smoker (for the last 10yrs) the hit wasn't as harsh as expected, but since the lungs are super clean it doesn't feel great to be putting anything foreign in them. Steel scrubber will be replaced with copper tomorrow, and GVG replaces The Machine in a week or two.

So.. no breakthrough, but interesting. No idea how far from a breakthrough it was. Might wait an hour or so and then load 40mg on and try again, but also try to take a second toke, since 1 hit may not be enough (with this spice/this Machine/this inept user).

Sounds like an interesting sub-breakthrough. I find the subs to still be quite powerful and immersive, as I'm sure you just discovered as well. Next time a solid second hit would definitely send you on through to the insane other side.
As for the harshness, though I haven't tried the machine, maybe try the sandwich method in a bong (if you have access to one). The water filtration helps smooth the rough smoke.

The copper chore boy works great but recently discovered [ceramic flavor discs] seem the cleanest material to use now...

Another smoke like that would probably have sent you through the veil.

Actually it wasn't very harsh at all, think the lungs were mostly irritated by the steel mesh. The steel mesh could be 'tasted' a bit even when sucking on the pipe with no payload and no flame. Replacing today.

The spice itself was so smooth that one wondered whether it had vaped at all in the first place. Just held the breath and hoped, then it became obvious the vape had worked.

Sorry for confusion... a normal (non-jet/torch) lighter with an electric ignition, so those rare earth components from the flint aren't anywhere near the lungs.

Second smoalk.. 40mg, but I wasn't able to take all of it in in one go.

Bed started disintegrating, wall surfaces went all 3D, flesh started looking bizarre. Closed my eyes, whirling cartoony/designy circles-within-circles (again) and probably what folks call 'the crysthanthemum', 'carrier wave' gets very intense, followed by hyperspace entry.

Alien landscape appears, too vast, complex and alien to take in and understand. Guided by an intelligence to zoom in on a little bit of this landscape. Like 'one room' of some alien factory or something.

There I watches a self-transforming neon-colored high definition alien object. I got the impression I was being shown some kind of energy production or containment device, but really not sure. The self-transforming thing itself seemed intelligent.

I really felt this was 'a place' and not just my imagination or an hallucination. After coming back down I could still feel the area of consciousness that this world had inhabited, except now it was vacant.

I did another hit from the same Machine load to see how much I'd missed. Quite a bit, because I tripped again for another 3-5 minutes. Just no hyperspace. But a wave of liquid bliss and wellbeing, and a multitude of OEVs.

Thought-provoking stuff. Is hyperspace real? Why am I taking DMT? Discussed a bit on the Nexus Chat. Will contemplate. Onwards.

I'd quite like an actual smoalking buddy or mentor to discuss this stuff with interactively, one on one. It's not going to be my wife (although I do tell her everything of course) because she's scared of it. I simply don't know anyone else who would do it though! Ho hum. If it is to be, it will present itself.

Third smoalk. A female presence (made up of lights) was in hyperspace this time, whirling and spinning around, with neon arcs shooting off her. Playful, light, joyous, teasing. I can't remember the rest.

After I come back from a DMT experience I feel incredibly sane. And relaxed and with a great sense of wellbeing.

The tip of my tongue went numb this time, for some reason.

I switched to copper once and then back to steel. IF you did not thoroughly heat the mesh till it glows (torch and tweezers is good for this) BEFORE putting it in the machine you may be getting a harsh hit from the residual oils etc from when it was manufactured. Be sure you always do this ESPECIALLY if you switch to copper (nasty nasty). I then rinse it with H2O and let it air dry for a day. With steel I ease the flame in from below until i hear the spice hiss and then slightly roll the machine. (BIC lighter works best IMO I hear many stories of torches cracking the glass on a machine) If I use a 60mg load I usually can't even light the next hit but that means not knowing what is left behind. Maybe if you use a GVG then use a torch, the glass is made to withstand the heat.

Thanks scoobs. I switched from using a Machine to a GVG just 2 hits ago. I'm still using a 'normal' lighter, but it has an electric ignition and is long and bendy. Something you'd use to light the inner recesses of a stacked fire. I just totally broke through (subject of an upcoming post) on that so it seems like an OK combo.

Yep, I burned all the crap off the steel scrubber before using, washed and dried it. Even then I thought it tasted pretty dodgy, but I read others have said the same.
