Hello, thought i'd write an introduction essay. I've put my first two trip reports in the thread - "First Two Experiences - Entity Contact" in First Steps in Hyperspace but I thought i'd also write a little about myself, my background and interests.
I'm 24 years old and from South West England. I'm primarily a musician/songwriter although i'm working on a book at the moment as well. I enjoy reading about a multitude of subjects and tend to go through anything that I take a slight interest in, for example i'm currently reading The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner.
I also love the work of people like Alan Watts, Bill Hicks and Carlos Castaneda to name a few.
To most I would imagine that 24 would seem quite young although I am a very old person inside with a lot of life experience. I tend to be the one that friends come to for advice or for a meaningful conversation.
I am also what you might call a crazy person

if there's a mountain to climb then i'll climb it just because it's there. I tend to throw myself into things without much planning, typical Aries I guess.
My interest in matters of the spirit and things like DMT came largely from tragedy. My sister passed away at a very young age, followed closely by my nan, then a long while later at the age of 18 one of my best friends passed on as well (I've seen a few more go since then too). At around the age of 19 I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, initially it became difficult to accept and I retreated into myself, I nearly managed to drink myself to death a couple of times and was addicted to various substances. But i'm pleased to say I have been cured through a combination of healthy diet (vegetarian of 5 years), exercise, yoga, meditation and experiences with substances like Psilocybin and more recently DMT.
I can't pinpoint when it was exactly that I had my great awakening but I know i'd been searching for a long time, I just never really expected to start finding answers, especially not the ones that I've found. The universe really is an amazing place to say the least

I've come to believe that our collective consciousness is something that is received by our brains like radio waves, the brain processes waves within a certain frequency range and as a result we have what we now understand as our collective 'reality', I think neurotransmitters like DMT allow us to shift the range of frequencies that we receive causing us to see higher levels of existence. That's just what i've come to believe anyway, an idea that I think is shared by Dr Rick Strassman now too.
Anyway, i'm very glad to be here with you all!
