I think I know what youre talking about with the ringing..
I had an experience (without drugs) where I had an increasing sound that sounded like a jet engine almost at its highest, and it got soo intese I literally almost had an obe. I also lost consciousness of the outside world a great deal. This is one of the experiences that the kundalini awakening can bring. Drugs (especially weed and psychedelics) can bring on kundalini arousal in dangerous ways.

DMT can raise the kundalini (Or atleast open the shushumna nadi in the spine), and it does a great deal during my experiences (Especially with oral DMT).

My best advice would be to practice meditation if you can figure it out. And Ayahuasca/oral DMT (In low dose (equiv. 50 mg DMT)) and work backwards. I actually accidentally awoke my kundalini with weed and it wasn't a problem at first, but after I started abusing drugs it sent my kundalini system all haywire and I actually did loose my sense of reality in many ways. Breath man, guide yourself into meditation with the medicine and the breathe.

It might sound dumb taking the substance again but working with fear has proven to be the best medicine for a lot of things with me. If you can go back into the DMT space with oral DMT and meditate/navigate, you might be able to go into the damage and heal it. I have had experiences like this with my kundalini.

Just my advice though.

I have tinnitus too, I think it has probably increased in 'volume' due to the anxiety and now has started a feedback loop.
Pulling yourself out of an ego dissolution can cause problems the increased tinnitis is a symptom of that.
You say you want to 'stay in your body' when you sleep? Why? I think next time you should let go and go wherever it is youre heading for in your sleep, it seems you may have left part of yourself 'there' and it is pulling you back to re-attach and realign let whatever/whoever is there to help you do this. You have nothing to fear you will come back refreshed and whole.
Before you sleep repeat a long deep humm from your chest so you feel the vibration, for half an hour and breathing out at the same time it somehow equalizes your natural vibration through the nervous system and will relax you, it may well be enough to centre and ground you.
The BTA website is good for other practical tinnitus advise I once had a retraining device that I used to train the brain to reduce the volume. It worked, gingko biloba didnt.
Get into nature too, walk on the grass barefoot to ground you, relax among the trees, exercise to reduce blood pressure eat well have sex watch some comedy you'll feel grounded again soon.
I wouldnt take any of these alkaloids anytime soon it clearly wasnt your time to transform.
These plants always teach us a lesson if you look hard enough maybe mother nature was slightly disapointed and also realised it wasnt your time in many cultures mother nature presents herself as a serpent or snake (the hissing sound you heard?) whether thats true or not nobody can say for sure maybe it was just your own disapointment at the realisation that it wasnt your time and maybe the path you walk now because of it will improve you and your life?
Maybe the purpose was for you to discover what this energy in your spine is all about and to positively harness it?

I know she isn't considered very highly on the forums but I think this video that the neurosoup chick made regarding HPPD does have some good information regarding things you can do to assist you in dealing with it.

One thing she recommend is the use of Valerian root. It can also cause drowsiness so it might be something you would consider trying. Anyways heres the video...

My tinnitus got significantly more pronounced after a big dose of aya.

But I don't think it actually got worse. I think I just became more conscious of it and so it sounded louder. I've found that the more I fight it, the worse it gets. The solution for me has been to breathe into it and accept it.

Though I admit, my case seems mild compared to yours.

Once again, this ^^^

Please go and seek professional help. Do not take any other advice except in conjunction with this. You may read things here you want to believe and that make sense to you in terms of your world view, but they are from unqualified sources who are diagnosing you with a paragraph you wrote on on internet forum. And if any are medical professionals giving you any advice other than to seek out live professional help, they are being irresponsible in diagnosing you from afar.

Whatever your feelings about the medical establishment, it is by far your best shot at resolving your difficulties.

Oh, and stay away from any and all drugs, especially cannabis and psychedelics, and including alcohol and coffee.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Cheers,

I would say until you get to see a doctor this is the best bet you can do in the mean time imo.

Like many others have said tough, we are not professionals, doctors are.

If I may add tough, and this is completely just an opinion: I wouldn't mention to the doctor that it increased after taking drugs because it might lead him to miss diagnose you (doctors actually do this often when they learn drugs are involved). I would just mention that it was there before and became more intense after a very stressful period in your life (make something up).

AGAIN this is just my opinion... but these things happen

wow,

Why is everybody advising against being open to your doctor about your drug use,
as far as my experience goes doctors are relatively neutral in that.
but maybe im lucky with my doctor, the thing is that isn't it strange not to tell your doctor the reason why you think your having these problems.

Where I am from, if you disclose drug use to your doctor, it stays on your medical records forever.
This has dire consequences when trying to get things like insurance later on in life. Not to mention the fact that government agencies can sequester records anytime they see fit.

You just don't know how your life may change in the future.

It would be advisable to refrain from such records unless absolutely necessary. Imo

astralspice]What I'd suggest is to trust in yourself and take the out of body journey. maybe, just maybe there is something that you need to know/experience in the out of body state that will help you resolve your issue.

I second that. To me it seems obvious that there is a volcano under pressure, if you will - and you are blocking the opening through with the pressure will be released.

For whatever reason, possibly catalyzed by the DMT, your consciousness is attempting an OBE with all its might and you haven't let it happen - and I think that's why you're going through hell.

Really though...imagine a volcano that is dying to erupt, but the opening is sealed shut and the highly pressurized lava can't go in reverse - it's definitely going to be chaotic within the volcano, right? You are the volcano. Smile Let it (yourself) out.

Edit to add: figure if I'm going to advocate this route I should include some resources. Aside from a thorough google search - if you're interested, of course - The Astral Pulse forums have a lot of information and, obviously, a place to ask questions - and probably the best literature I've read on astral projection would be Robert Monroe's 3 books Journeys out of the Body, Far Journeys, and Ultimate Journey - all available for free online in PDF format, just a google search away. (both regular direct downloads and torrents can be found easily) His last one is actually hosted here on the Nexus, which you'll immediately see the link to if you do a google search for Robert Monroe PDFs.

Much love

hey Zorai , how are you doing ?

are the techniques helping you ?

going to the doctor to see if its a underlying medical problem might be a good idea , it might be your ear drums have been damaged in some way

i doubt it considering that this started instantly after the DMT flash , yet it never hurts to check with the doc what he thinks as it could be some other underlying medical issue that requires immediate attention

anyways how are you doing ?
illusions !, there are no illusions
there is only that which is the truth

I really feel compassion for you. I think I went through something similar as a child (it wasn't triggered by drugs...it happened randomly one day when I was 9 years old).

1. You should go get checked out by a doctor.

2. Consider doing ayahuasca again and letting go this time...give up any control and see where it takes you. Even if it doesn't help I doubt it could make things any worse.

3. Ground yourself to the earth and try to meditate every day. If the noise bothers you...try to embrace it, merge with it, while you are meditating.

4. Let go during your OBE's. let them happen. When I was a child experiencing OBE's for the first time (which very well could have been sleep paralysis but I have an inkling they were more than that). the very best thing I could do was to let go and ride it out. Resisting the OBE lead to anxiety, fear, sleeplessness, and contact with negative entities. Also, I would experience the exact same ringing/buzzing your were talking about. Almost drove me insane too.

When I learned to let go...the nature of the experience changed dramatically...it didn't become all rainbows and sunshine but I started having very positive experiences, slept better, positive entity contact, and even had a little fun during the process. Also, the ringing went away (gradually...but it did go away).

5. While I do believe there is a reality that is "hidden" from everyday view it is also important to remember that this reality is not all powerful. If you do do ayahuasca again, don't worry about letting go....you're not going to die, you're going to come back down eventually, and it is all temporary. Same philosophy applies with letting go during the onset of an OBE....you're not going to not be able to get back into your body, you're not going to fly off somewhere never to return, it will end eventually.

honestly dude, it's just doing drugs I used to be big with well, everything, and the ringing in your head it's like playing COD or some shit after you throw a nade? the ringing noise in your head? that shit made me insane could not sleep for months. Saw doctors for it I would walk in and be like "oh yeah, I got this ringing in my head that wont stop when I try to sleep it keeps me up or w/e gets really loud or softer depending on what mood I'm in or w/e" and they gave me Alot of benzos for it. off them now, been dealing with it since I was 16 and I think it's just snorting shit is what causes that ringing and super intense dreams or w/e. you feel like your going crazy... I been telling people for years about my problem and no one has like even cared, and I just go on the internet and see you like me in the same shit...wow... anyway it started in me when I started snortin shit, I eventually learned how to over come it I figured it was "tinnitus" but I went to an ear nose and throat doctor about 4 years ago and he said "we can't find anything wrong, your sinuses are fucked for sure but you may need to go see a neurologist" so now, I figure you got blessed with bunk sinuses and been having sinus problems your whole life and you did some crazy shit or w/e and the combination with your fucked sinus cavities you get that super annoying ringing in your head when you try to sleep or when the room gets quiet...

Unless you can't for some financial reason or whatever at least get some tests done. The ringing may have nothing to do with your dmt use. Even if it does why wouldn't you at least seek professional help.

I wouldn't bring up the words dmt, insanity, psychedelics, ect. Just say you have this real intense ringing in your ear that got so loud you can't sleep. You want to find out what it is you may as well exhaust all resources.

This.

Also, I know what you're talking about. I've had this happen to me. It's frightening to say the least. It did subside but strangely it crops up from time to time still especially when I wake up in the middle of the night. It actually happened not too long ago and usually I get really scared and I fight it but this last time I gave into it. I told myself it felt good... and I just enjoyed the feeling. Oddly enough that calmed me down and I didn't want it to stop that night and I ended up sleeping great.

The vibrations feel like a helicopter spinning inside of you, no? If yes then I do know what you're talking about Smile
Oh my god. I broke it. I broke reality.

Zorai, a few questions, if you ever grace us with your presence again.

Have you taken psychedelics before? Are you used to smoking things in general?
Do you take care of your body, as in, exercise regularly, try to get enough sleep, especially on trip days?

Have you tried something more like the Eckhart Tolle method, as in, listening and being with that ringing, not always panicking and expecting it to go away? You haven't been living through "hell" over the past 3 months. You've been living with a sound in your ears, that you then chose to make hell by constantly worrying and panicking about it, instead of just observing.

The only thing I can tell you is that we're made to oscillate, in order to work right. If you exercise you sleep well. If you're an apathetic couch potato, you won't. Our bodies were made to sometimes move, sometimes rest, and our attention was made to sometimes focus externally, sometimes internally. The more you swing one way, the more you will swing the other. Standing still is what leads to problems. As you know fear, worries, they lead to a certain kind of inactivity. A still body with an overactive mind, that's not oscillating in balance as it should. Try to restore your normal oscillating cycles.

Some of the time you can actively listen with presence and acceptance, to that sound in your head, and the rest you can listen to music and breath and other things. IMO your desperate need for it to go away, your extreme non-acceptance of it, is what provides the bulk of your emotional issues from all this.

Can't sleep? Go work out A LOT during the day. Next night you'll sleep like a baby, sound or no sound.

The ringing in your ears may be a medical problem, brought on by smoking DMT or not. The emotional reactions and how you've been handling it, that is a choice that you can certainly start to change and improve from now on.

For the ringing, go to the doctor. For the dealing with the ringing, listen to Eckhart Tolle and Alan Watts more. They both teach acceptance presence and awareness, which IMO you need a bit more of, in fact most of us Westerners do.

Best of luck, be all that you can be Thumbs up
