Hi, i need some advise please..
I've been performing the "Tao of Rue" Extraction.
I followed the steps, cooking it ,filtering and adding the sodium carbonate,left it over night, decanted it and was left with the good stuff ready for the "Manske".
This is where i think i've made a pigs ear of it.
I took 200ml of vinegar and added boiling water to the vinegar then poured 500ml of the mixed solution onto the alkaloids (of which was 150ml from 300g rue)letting it all dissolve ( i needed to make liquid for growth of the alkaloid fiber glass looking harmala) .
Then coffee filtered it into a jar. It dosnt look rite to me, pics below..
Have i done something wrong?
i did add the salt btw

I'm thinking i shoulda added a dash of vinegar and alot more water, then the salt?

that looks real good to me man. filter through a cotton ball stuffed fairly loosely in a funnel to catch the needles, redissolve them in a minimal amount of hot water and then filter taht through a coffee filter if you like, then do the salt thing again, repeat 2 or 3x for really...really nice xtals. :}

Many thanks..I can relax now, it's just that in the tao of rue wiki pics has clear water with them needles growing..I'm breaking my harmala virginity here

Just an update, i filtered my fibers, dissolved them in hot water.
Then started cleaning while i boiled the kettle.
Then i received a phone call.
Then i hung up and carried on.
Then i'm standing there thinking where is my harmala?
Then i held my hed in my hands because i realized that i had poured the dissolved harmala down the sink.

I'm sorry this happened . Even a brief distraction of focus can lead to some big mistakes when brewing or extracting, I've found. We all have made plenty though, so really- don't feel bad! Can't learn without making mistakes at some point or another. I once brewed a kilo of rue without opening any windows, and the moisture messed up some of the paint on the walls, along with some of my roomates art!

Rue is also very cheap and you can get another one going in no time, if you want.

I dont feel bad. I was doing a big batch of mimosa at the same time and i suppose as long as that is ok, thats all that matters.
I still have my 10x Caapi brewing, yay,
I'm thinking of heating up some vinegar and doing an acid wash on all the filters and cotton balls to see what i can scrape up.
Next time ill cook twice the amount of seeds to compensate.
