I have a Google News alert for Dimethyltryptamine, and this was a fun way to start my morning.
I'll let you guys figure out what's wrong with this.

http://www.morningjourna...s-guilty-in-dmt-lab-bust

Quote:
ELYRIA — A 21-year-old woman has pleaded guilty after being involved in a Dimethyltryptamine, also known as DMT, lab bust.
Maura McFadian, 21, of Elyria, pleaded guilty last week to illegal manufacture/cultivation of drugs, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, endangering children and possession of drugs.
Court officials have not set a sentencing date pending a pre-sentence report.
Police arrested McFadian and two other Elyria residents March 22 after discovering what may have been the first active DMT lab ever busted in Ohio.
The lab was being run in a utility room of an apartment at 228 Washington Ave. McFadian’s 7-month-old child was at the apartment.
Dimethyltryptamine is a hallucinogen. Officers seized 50 grams of solid DMT and 60 milliliters of liquid, which has a street value of $6,800 for the solids alone, Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detective Olen Martin has said.
McFadian’s co-defendants, Anderson Rush and Benjamin Harvitt, still have cases pending in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
DMT is highly explosive and toxic to produce. The dust created by the extraction process is combustible and even a heat level that is slightly too high can cause an explosion.
Additionally, improper ventilation of the gasses can cause damage to those breathing the gasses, Martin said.
Working on a separate case, Martin had gone to the Washington Avenue residence and noticed tubes in a utility room. On the floor, Martin saw clear tubing, a crock pot, rubber gloves and chemical splash.
Martin said DMT is a psychedelic drug that varies in its results depending upon the amounts used. It can be smoked or snorted, but users will often times prefer to dose marijuana with it. Smaller doses will give people a feeling as if they are dreaming while still awake. Larger doses will cause the user to completely disconnect from reality.
DMT in its finished form is a crystalline powder that is white or yellow. It is made from the bark of the mimosa tenuiflora tree. The bark gets boiled down and combined with various chemicals to make DMT, Martin said.

"And 60 millilitres of liquid" ??? What?

"Plastic tubing" ???

"Explosive" ???

"50g... XXXX$" ??? I was not aware dmt had a street value of exactly Moderator edit: Let's avoid this discussion.

He actually desribed the effects quite nicely though.

It is pretty ignorant to do any extracting near children.

It's unbelievable... the way that newspapers just report stuff without really going into it. I don't read the papers anymore, it seems like such a waste of time. All it is in my opinion is a continuous vomiting of false information to keep people a sleep...

Somehow I always sucker myself into reading this tripe and never feel satisfied by any part of it. Absolute drivel.

I have a hard time believing that the police have intercepted enough DMT to have even a rough estimate of it's street value, let alone such a precise number, especially since they admit, in this very article, this is the first large-scale DMT operation they've ever seen in Ohio.

They probably just picked a number out of a hat, or just used whatever number they have on the books for LSD or magic mushrooms.

I wonder if they found 50g of bark or they honestly found 50g of extracted DMT.

If that is true, which I find doubtful given the quality of the journalism, this would be by far the largest DMT bust I have ever seen.

Police just pull these numbers out of there asses. There is no formula. It happens in virtually all drugs busts, this isn't unique to DMT. Uninformed speculation on value is rampant in drug bust stories.

That's actually a really good question.

50g of freebase DMT is a lot of DMT, way more then even three people could reasonably ever smoke, and must have come from a massive amount of MHRB.

I wonder if they where planning on slinging it, in which case, all my sympathy for them goes out the window.

Wow

Good for her and also verry sad.
Another exaple why you should not deal drugs. Or extract to sell.

Agreed--this an absolute outrage! Our communities! our children and bla blah bla.

Seriously though people, knock it off with the slinging already.

I can almost guarantee what they found was 50 grams of bark. Which by cop logic = 50 grams of dmt. Then they found a small amount in process of extraction probably another 50 grams or so worth of bark. They blow it up and make it sound outrageous, "we took down this huge drug lab", when in reality they busted some poor folks doing a simple small scale extraction for personal use.

These people were obviously doing something that attracted police attention though, so that was their real downfall.

Actually just so you guys know, $XXX a gram is not a far off number. I have talked to a few people that, from first hand experience, understand that Moderator edit: Tisk Tisk Tisk is the most common price. Luckily it is very common to run into, but we all know it is sold by some people. Which is sad, but luckily it hasn't blown up yet. Which IMO means that it wont.

50g of "DMT" and 60ml of liquid. That sound like the amount of naphtha one would need when extracting 50g of bark. This is horrible and I think we all should email demanding corrections be made and research be done into what actually was happening.

There arent very many of these and I dont see any reason why we couldn't band together and do such a thing. What do you guys think?

It is most likely NOT 50g dmt, check out the pics:

http://chronicle.northco...p-unique-drug-operation/

more like some smaller extraction, 50g mimosa maybe.

by the way this case has been discussed before:

https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=42309

Also, it seems they got busted because the roommate let cops come into the appartment to discuss some other case , and cop saw the extraction through an open door:

Another example why people should NOT be extracting in shared houses.

What the heck were they doing with so much rubber/plastic tubing? And why does it look like everything they were using is being held together by duct tape? Lol. They look like they were just making a HUGE mess. What the heck do you need Top Fuel racing methane for?
