Hi, i tried a Harmala extraction and i think i made a pigs ear out of it  I microwaved 50g of rue in vinegar, then added 1ltr boiling water.Letting it sit for half hour and whisking every 5 mins.. Did that x3. I didnt reduce it. Filtered it, then added sodium carbonate.. It never went white white but did change colour to nearly white. I left it overnight. This morning i chucked the top stuff away and mixed the bottom layer in hot water/vinegar. Then added the salt. Instead of getting fiber glass like strings, i got some kinda powdery looking formation on the bottom. I filtered it and im left with what looks like mud to me, although its not dry yet. Is that harmala or just junk mud?  On the bright side, my first DMT extraction was a bit of a failuer and got better there after  OneFive attached the following image(s):  IMAG0293.jpg (422kb) downloaded 55 time(s). Well, it's unlikely that it's not the alkaloids - what you might want to do is to mix this mud with water, thoroughly, let the stuff settle, decant the water, repeat at least twice. This should ensure you get rid of things like bases, acids and salts and end up with a semi-clean Harmala product. When done, spread out and let dry. BUT don't take my word for it, I'm no professional chemist. Good luck, MAO In my country, the legal go-to psychoactive substance is ethanol. Lucky you! Some hours after he set the stuff out to evap, a friend's family member spilled his dish. No there's only 60 or so grams left for brews. The key to Harmalas extraction: filtering. Once you're done filtering, filter again. Once you've finished that, filter again. Joke from chat: What did the Rue extractor say to the MHRB extractor? Tip: let your solution sit for a day or more before filtering. This will reduce the difficulty in filtering substantially because most of the gunk is at the bottom.
I think I usually filter my rue extracts 20 times or so by the end. You'll know when you're done filtering when the coffee filter doesn't stain brown at all (only bright yellow).
