So, in attempt to make changa, I managed to acquire what I thought was pure acetone (it was marketing as such), however, a closer inspection of the label reveals that it also contains Denatonium Benzoate (also called Bitrex). There's not a whole lot out there about it that I can find. Does it evaporate like acetone, or will this make my changa unsmokable? Blessings ~ND "There are many paths up the same mountain."

Bitrex is also used for denaturating ethanol...I'd stay avay from it... My avatar was taken from google images and is actually a work of art by NEIL GIBSON, credit where credit is due! Bodies don't have souls - souls have bodies Old enough to know better, young enough to try again

So what actually is hazardous about it if it isn't carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic, or developmentally toxic? Is it just irritating? Lol "I am cursed by the blossoming knowledge of my feminine ideal and she looks suspiciously like you."

As it's the most bitter substance known (hence its use to deter anyone from drinking it - such as curious children), I'm pretty damn sure that any residue in your changa is gonna make it extremely unpalatable and difficult to smoke, if nothing else

There is definitely little you can do with the bitrex in your acetone - if you evaporate acetone you will find bitrex residue - may or it may not harm changa taste and may or it may not be dangerous to smoke/burn it. Why take any risks? Just find something else and with no bitrex. Need to calculate between salts and freebases? Click here! Need to calculate freebase or salt percentage at a given pH? Click here!
