I finally went ahead and attempted my first graft of a loph. on a pedro stock a few days ago it was exciting lol I just hate the waiting process to see if it worked lol  How long should I wait before i water it?

True that, Im just getting into grafting and wanted to also try to put a loph. on a pereskiopsis. Do you have experience with those? I'll probably acquire some next week i'm interested in trying the impale method.
If my grafts a success should I leave the scion on til it flowers?

i've done lots of week old seedlings to pere, but never larger plants.
pedros make a much better stock for any button over 1/4" imo
and, yes- leave it grafted until you've produced lots of seeds(stay on for years is great)

yeah the seeds is what i'm working towards I've only got 2 mothers who's pups have pups  lol I think its so neat how they grow, I'm trying to graft all the pups til its just the mothers again. I also have a few nice peruvian torch that are thicker and was curious if they were a good stock choice? Does it make a higher success rate when the feed stock of the pedro is a lot bigger than the scion to make it easier to over lap feed stocks?

yes, torch is a great stock
? you only need to overlap a tiny section of the growth ring for the graft to thrive

I figured it didn't need much just wasn't sure.
Do you collect the stamens from the flowering cacti to later increase seed production of others? How should I go about storing them just in a jar in a dark cool spot?
I wanna pollinate a pedro with my torch whenever they flower. I'm interested in hybrids I would love to have a hybrid that takes on the short spines of the pedro and the beautiful bluish color of the torch with those knotches below the spines.

lophs are self fertile,
the pedro may not be- so be sure to save some pollen in the fridge.
