This short completely blew me away, amazing stuff.

I agree with Art on this one. Especially when the girl with the tiger on her back turns to see death who has fireworks going off behind him. Also when (I think it is a representation of) Shiva is dancing and sticks her tongue out. This really reminds me of some characters from hyperspace.

I think it is the way the characters look almost cartoon like, but have some kind of underlying menace to them, an unpredictability. Like they are mindless but all knowing at the same time.

I'm very surprised this film has not had more exposure than it has. I've tried reading up about it in any kind of mainstream media, but there is nothing. I Googled the title, and this thread in the Nexus was on page 1 of the results!

ya...since art turned me on to it a little while ago, i have posted it everywhere and shared it with everyone. it is such an exceptional piece of work. layers deep.... chapeau to all those involved in it's coming into being.

and art....just keep doing what yer doing and you WILL be making stuff like this soon enough....

Yeah I struggle to understand that part as well. The character that dances in the temple changes between many different characters in mythology / religions, but I don't recognise many of them.

My take on the general theme is mankind battling with itself though the downfall of modern society. Then we see jesus (representing humanity) being reborn as a spiritual being, with traditional society destroyed. Maybe the dancing character represents this spiritual awakening of the population, and the changes in his character represent different sections of society / belief systems. I'd be interested to hear others thoughts on this part.

Like Antrocles, I've sent this link on to all those I thought might like it. It really is an amazing piece of art! I would quite happily join a class to study this piece, and learn about a lot of the themes it highlights.

i saw a bunch of interpretation videos and in one the guy makes mention of the dance as a sort of symbolic linking of the dragon (china) the bear (russia) and the eagle (u.s.) in a kind of super-powers of the western dogma way. perhaps insinuating that when these three juggernauts of our population all awaken (dancing) as one, then the mystic christ figure exits the demon tunnel of darkness.

it is stupendously interesting and it was fun to watch and catch a LOT of stuff i had totally missed. this is definitely a rich tapestry of symbolism and hidden messages. those cats at heliophant are definitely tappin' into some shtuff...

i particularly like the whole symbolism of the fire opening the pineal gland as the mystic christ enters the tunnel and the quick shot that lines up the prow of the egyptian boat with the third eye of the christ figure and the pineal gland just behind him. i pressed pause and just looked at the way the cave is shaped like two brain hemispheres, etc. GREAT symbolism....

..and then, while in the tunnel of illusion, the cosmic christ never opens his eyes...and all of the fish leap from the water to his feet as a representation of those who would literally kill themselves in the hopes that another will save them....yet his eyes remain closed symbolizing the work must be done on oneself within.

....AND the pyramid on his forehead with the eye at the BOTTOM, not the top. elightenment for the many, not the few....

i could go on and on...it's just so good. LOVE rich stuff like this!

Also, in the beginning above the blackboard there is the "Human Evolution Table" which is pretty interesting for me.

Many people consider the next evolutionary step to be Illumination, one way or another.Everyone expects some kind of Golden Age in the close future.

The way people behave, and the way society is working today.People going on riots,unbelievable technology just after the corner.Political Pressure and economical.
Everything seems to be boiling,loading until something bursts.

Make you wonder if this isn't orchestrated.

I share your enthusiasm Antrocles. I think literally every object in this piece is telling a story or making a point. Even some of the landscapes and backgrounds. So many little details, it's absolutely stunning and I will watch it again and again. Without wishing to belittle it - It is almost like symbolism charades!

I took the tunnel that Christ travels through as a birth canal of some sort. He appears from "hyperspace", and breaths fire (life?) over what looks like an ovary / egg. Then there is the (very weird) scene where the old woman is trapped in a penis, perhaps signifying fertilisation. When Christ emerges from the cave (vagina representation?) he opens his eyes for the first time, just as a newborn child does.

I saw this whole process as signifying that enlightenment starts from that other place (hyperspace, nirvana, samsara, or whatever your personal reference is) but it can be manifest in this reality as well, and it is our path as individuals and humanity to make that happen.

Like you say Antrocles, you could go on and on... Please do, I very much enjoy exploring the ideas in this piece, and reading up about those which I do not understand.

please do, i thought i understood a good amount of the symbolism, but you clearly understand more.

for example, i thought the eye was just his third eye and the pyramid just showing the trinity being at the topmost (most important) of the mind. i did not recognize the enlightenment for the masses, cool stuff.

i have watched this video many times, and i still find it just as enjoyable (if not more) as the first time.

a truly powerful work of art, maybe the most powerful work of film i have ever seen.

While parts of this film are visually striking and clever (particularly the caricatures of Bush and Obama), there are also aspects that seem to me slick, insidious, & manipulative.
The music is also cheesy and obnoxious.

To me the Christ character appears false, contrived, a puppet. Even when he's breathing fire or exploding businessmen, he seems weirdly neutered, passionless. A tool.
(that being said, I find Christ false in any context)

So I am skeptical of the intentions of whoever funded this project. I think it is misguided at best.
