I love reading comments and tweets about DA spice & came across this comment today,

"They need to give a accurate account of Dmt and include the negative effects as well. DMT is a class 1 drug for several reasons. The short term effect is dissociative. Long term effects include long term brain damage."

Firstly I know she's got no ground to stand on as there hasn't been any/enough studies to say so.

Secondly, with the cosmic auspiciousness that surrounds it I couldn't imagine the Universe throwing that one at us.

Back in may/June I consumed 7g's of spice, bag of mush and little LSD/MDA and even to this day I still feel like I'm still slightly recovering. A good nights sleep is important and I get bags under my eyes easier then I used too...

Your thoughts?

My take is that anything can mess with the system if taken in large enough doses. So it sounds like you overdid it to me.

About 15 years ago I was heavily into LSD, mushrooms, dope, MDMA, speed etc. I took a few hundred LSD trips over a couple of years and I ended up having flashbacks at work. Then I couldn't leave the house for anxiety, then I turned into a total social phobic and started throwing up 2-3 times a day from nerves. It took a (painful) decade to recover.

I definitely see a cause-effect relationship between the time/volume intensity of the drugs I took (particularly LSD) and the condition I ended up in.
All posts are made on behalf of, or referring-to, a paranoid internet buddy who does not wish to post on this forum directly. He or she reads the forum and tells me what to respond. I sometimes paste his or her communications in verbatim to save time (and therefore these posts naturally use 'I', 'me' and so on). Other times I write as myself and refer to my buddy's exploits explicitly ('my friend', and so on). I do not know my buddy's real name or location, we met on another forum. I am basically a member of this site as a human proxy for an anonymous other.

Surely anything that occurs in nature is benign long-term.

Psilocybin, THC, DMT, et all, come from the earth and within us. Giving ourselves more of things that make us feel good is just helping evolution IMO.

I can't really validate to what extent this applies to DMT. But one thing I can say, after 10 years of extended and variable drug use of all kinds, is that generally-speaking trying something once or twice or even a few times is not likely to cause any long-term damage. But doing something repetitively, and at extensive dosages, for extended durations of time certainly effects one's physiology, psychology, and just overall grounding to waking, normal consciousness (by normal consciousness I mean your waking state as it is when not under the influence of chemicals or psychoactives)

So, by extension, that logic and experience leads me to conclude that the same extrapolation applies to DMT use as well. I would rather not find out for sure through direct experience, but that's just me. I do not make this statement lightly.

Meditation would be the safest, most natural alternative to expanding states of consciousness without the necessity for extended drug use;

Well no not really, there are lots of natural poisons.

I don't really think excessive drug use is a clever idea, 115mg of DMT per day plus shrooms plus LSD plus MDA for 2 months is probably not going to help your evolution.

f1, are you surprised you still feel odd?

That link contains so much disinformation about DMT that they cannot be taken seriously:

Chi and DMT wrote:
It is most plentiful in the pineal gland, which is considered to be the potential biological locus of human consciousness and the seat of the soul.

This has never been proven and these assumptions are not based on logic, therefore it is not scientific at all.

Chi and DMT wrote:
The pineal gland is known as the third eye, or the point source from which consciousness manifests itself in the human body.

Same as above.

Chi and DMT wrote:
It is suspected that, when a persona falls asleep, DMT is released into the brain from the pineal gland to induce dream states of consciousness, and also that, when a person dies, a flood of this chemical is released, accounting for the consciousness-expanding effects of near-death experiences and for the movement of the psyche into realms beyond waking life.

And again another theory that has not been proven. This was an idea coined by Strassman(?) and somehow it made people think that it is the final truth, if you research this more you will find out there is no proof for this at all.

Chi and DMT wrote:
The proper use of this substance has traditionally been the domain of Amazonian shaman who for thousands of years have been drinking the thick and unpleasant-tasting psychedelic brew Ayahuasca.

Proper use? That is a subjective opinion brought as truth, not a good thing at all.

Michelle Gilman wrote:

Does she even know what dissociative means? PCP, DXM and MXE for example are dissociatives not DMT. And long term use include irreversible brain damage? Maybe she can show the scientific article for that? I doubt it since the studies done for Ayahuasca use could not find any detrimental effects. Maybe she is mixing up DMT with DXM?

So all in all I would advise you to look a bit further into real studies instead of vague pages like the one linked in the first post. Google scholar is a nice way to find more scientific articles and also here on the forum there are several threads containing many scientific articles.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

@The Traveler

I know the article contained mostly disinfo, I only contained the link to source the quote.

@3rdl

Yes I am surprised about the whole situation. Lol
