I think you just need to go and meet a nice girl obliguhl..it seems from all the past conversations with you that this would do you a world of good.

I guess this would be true. It makes no sense to lie to myself about this. You know, there is a lot of "find inner strength" talk but i seriously doubt that most people are capable of developing "inner strength" without having their basic needs met.

And yes, it's mostly fear of rejection (=new people, initiating contact)

After Spartans recommendation, i tried Kratom again, this time white vein sumatra. I felt great at first and even a bit stimulated. But after 2-3 hours it wore off and i just got tired and this "meh" feeling....i don't know, this stuff does not have a good vibe imho...

@olympus mon
You are a sweet, sweet man, thank you Smile

DreaMTripper, thanks ..sometimes i take high dose Vitamin B6 but it does not do anything noticable ...

@Jin
Yes, coffee containing 200mg caffeine. As for dark chocolate...well, as some of you may know im a big cacao bean guy and have eaten kilos of the stuff. Some beans are just...well, i don't know, they give me anxiety and dizzyness. Some have no effect at all...but some are really nice, stimulating, and mood lifting. The combination with kava is really something. I need to try that again but possibly not for weeks in a row to prevent sideeffects.

Jellyfox, thanks for your suggestion. Valerian root does not jive with me...i get into weird states of half asleep half awake and feel pretty sluggish the next day :/

I need to workout again...longest i've tried was 40 days or so...it's ok and does help a bit even though not enough.

So what are the best drugs to overcome anxiety related problems? I've been struggling with social anxiety for a long time now, and i do not have any illusions, that this will change at all. So my main goal is to identify the best pharmaceutical agents to provide enough relief to maintain the most basic functions in order to prevent negative life outcomes.

This is exactly the kind of mindset that's counter productive to finding any real change. Ever heard of manifest destiny? There will never be one drug, one experience, one woman, one attitude, or one belief that will fix your problem. Instead of looking for a miracle cure it would be more prudent to tackle this issue through many different approaches. There was a time I had so much social anxiety I couldn't even use the pisser in public.

I have a suggestion, it's a good way to learn more about who you are and it will help you find ways tailored for individuals such as yourself. Have you ever heard of MBTI? My personality type is an INFJ. Whilst this isn't a system without its flaws it does help identify similarities between different individuals of a population. I have learned so much about myself through MBTI and how to combat my own social anxiety. I consider it an important stepping stone in my own progress through this life.

Personalitycafe.com is a great place to learn MBTI.

so you're drinking approximately 3 grams of coffee in an instant , as 1 gram of coffee contains approximately 68 mg of caffeine ,

if so this is your problem i guess and the reason for your anxiety ,

perhaps a lesser dosage will get you better results
illusions !, there are no illusions
there is only that which is the truth

2-3 hours? Crying or very sad

Maybe you didn't take enough?

I usually feel the main effects for at least 6 hours, with an afterglow lasting up to 8 hours after taking kratom. I guess that shows how everyone is affected differently.

I usually experience an opiate-like after-glow for about 8 hours after taking the kratom.

I don't use it daily, only when I'm feeling "bla" but it seems to help. Depending on it daily seems to defeat the purpose.

I use an enhanced white vein kratom so I don't have to consume so much plant material.

I've never came across anything as effective as kratom (besides poppy seed tea which can be too addictive) that worked as well as kratom for anti-depressive/anti-anxiety effects.

To each their own. Best of luck to you.

Caffeine provokes a bit of body anxiety for me, on doses of over 200mg that is...but then, it stimulates me so much, that sometimes i'm able to break through social anxiety a bit. Like i said, cacti extract is the absolute gold standard in my books as it is anti-depressive, stimulating and calming at the same time...it's magical!

@Spartan 2
Perhaps it's dose dependent. I took 2g, that is not so much i assume? But i figured since white vein kratom is said to be on the stronger side and i feel like dozing after the same amount of maeng da, i though it would be wise....how much do you take ?

2 grams is not a lot for a non-enhanced leaf, but some people seem to be more or less sensitive to opiates (in this case, opiate-like plants).

White-veins, with the exception of the potent maeng da, are not usually stronger, just more on the "energetic" side of the spectrum.

Feeling sleepy on opiates is common, but easily controlled (as long as your dose is not too high) by increasing your activity level. By staying active and alert, you can utilize the energetic and motivating qualities of the opiate/kratom.

I have quite a tolerance to opiates, so I take 3-5 grams of extract-enhanced maeng da, probably equal to about 15-20 grams regular, plain leaf kratom.

I don't maintain on this daily, as it would easily become a crutch for me, but I find it really helps as a "boost" when I'm feeling down.

Overall, I think diet and lifestyle changes are more effective when it comes to controlling anxiety on a regular basis. Thumbs up

i agree. in smaller doses it tends to be more stimulating while the larger doses tend to be more claming and relaxing. Strain also is a big factor for me. Maeng Da will last a good six to eight hours with a mildly stimulating opiate like buzz, while a Vietnamese strain has a strong to heavy opiate like buzz with an almost distinct 4 hour window being totally devoid of an after glow. Bali makes me sleepy at any dose, having no stimulating properties for me.The effects on motivation from the first two strains are amazing, and have helped me with the deppression that came along with social anxiety

Californian poppy (Eschscholzia californica) has helped me greatly in times of need when faced with anxiety with a very real cause. I found it to be non-habit forming. There would always come a point when I knew it had done its job and I no longer needed it. I never needed to use it for more than ten days and there were no problems coming off it. I've always been good with these things, however.

Another bonus with this herb, for me, is that it's cheap as chips down at my local herbalist's shop. Occasionally it can also be tweaked for fun Smile - generally as part of an OTC multi-herb/dietary supplement formula.

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
