Hello! I've been a member on here for some time now. I've spent countless, countless hours reading thru here as well as a few other sites (though this has far surpassed every other one combined in terms of quality content from A to Z) and learning about the intricacies of DMT, from the scientific end to the psychological end to the spiritual end. I was first turned on to the concept of DMT after doing some reading on the pineal gland for one of my psych classes; reading one article briefly mentioned DMT, I did some further reading and everything simply snowballed from there and Ive been fascinated ever since.

I literally have zero background with any other forms of hallucinogenics/psychedelics or any other form of drugs for that matter, hell I don't even drink alcohol and I don't even like taking advil for head aches. But DMT is different as we all know. Ive always been the kind of person to be pretty blunt with what something is, and while DMT is technically considered a "drug", I don't think it should be regarded as such. Ive always said that drug use is ignorant because so many use it as a means to escape reality because theyre trying to run from something that they simply should get figured out WITHOUT using drugs (or alcohol). Face reality head on rather than hide/mask the bad. But, DMT seems to me as though it opens a door to a truer reality or a sort of super-reality. A reality that lies beyond what we simply wake up and see every day. It is a natural tool, and depending on the user, that tool can be put to use.

I have let a couple of my closest friends in on the concept of DMT and the say it sounds amazing...but they simply dont get it. I personally have yet to experience DMT. They say...dude, why not just smoke weed? I say, because Im not trying to giggle and get the munchies. The point is NOT to get high. Despite my total lack of experience as to what weed can do, I feel the point of DMT is to explore and travel somewhere that weed could never even take you in a billion years (to my understanding). We're talking the difference between bunting a single to get on first base versus hitting a grand slam literally out of this world. And I dont like baseball, but thats at least an easy way to relate the way I see the two.

Anyway, that's my story, and I look forward to continuing my stay here for some great information. As I said, I am a TOTAL 100% noob to this realm and never in a million years did I ever think Id have an interest in something like this even with my love for psychology and cognition/perception, so some questions will certainly seem elementary, but with all the reading Ive done I feel like Im leaps and bounds more in the loop than I was a few months back.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

Welcome to the Nexus there is much you will be interested in, DMT really does bring people together from all walks of life.
I too have an interest in psychology and quantum physics, now botany, something DMT has a hand in too somehow.
Are we viewing the quantum multiverse? Who knows! I only know I adore and respect a great deal the ' spirit molecule' and believe its a super drug with many uses for many areas.

Happy travels!

Welcome to the nexus HT!
I can resonate with a lot that you've written. I share a belief that it isn't necessarily a good thing to use drugs to escape troubles one is having in 'real life' that they are either afraid or unable to face head on. At one time in my life that was a firm belief of mine. However after years of researching and meeting new people and understandings I've come to believe they shouldn't be used as an escape, but as an aid to or catalyst for a sort of therapy. There are plenty of entheogens that have medicinal benefits both psychological and physical, and i would DEFINITELY recommend someone educates themselves and tries to help whatever is causing them problems (be it addiction, depression, anxiety, etc), using these before going down the road of prescribed meds.

No, that is your theory. I understand that reading about it fascinates you and that it naturally leads to all sorts of speculation. I don't want to offend you, but before preaching DMT to others, it really makes sense to me to try the stuff first. Afterwards, you may wish to have stuck to weed. Not suggesting that anything bad will happen to you, but i guarantee that a decent dose of DMT WILL shock you...

Im totally with you. Prescription drugs are a bandaid any way, they simply hide the side-effects rather than cure the issue at hand. The quick fix is the way to go for the majority. Im fortunate enough to say I dont suffer from depression or anxiety.

I see what you're saying. Guess theres only one way to find out. I too don't expect anything bad to happen, and a shock would be much appreciated Smile

It's certainly the most shocking thing I have ever experienced.
Having your entire world replaced in a matter of seconds is pretty shocking.
No words can explain it.

Happy Travels
I am a liar, a compulsive liar, I love making up stories.
Do NOT believe a word I say!
When I talk about "I", I mean my friend, not me, my friend.

When time stands still and the world is removed, behold for this is the hidden kingdom..............

Thank you! I think any one and everyone could benefit from something like this. Reality is such a hot topic, has been and will continue to be, it fascinates me. Perception is everything, and I look forward to some exciting experiences.
