I noticed an amusing thing the last time I drank ayahuasca.

The visions had peaked and were growing fainter.

For some reason, I started rubbing my eyes and as I did so, I noticed a bright light. So much so that I thought someone had walked into the room and switched the light on. I opened my eyes but ofcourse, there was no one there and the room was pitch black. So I rubbed my eyes again, and the same bright light appeared, and disappeared again as soon as I stopped rubbing my eyes.

After playing around like this for a bit, I decided to continue rubbing my eyes until the light was overwhelmingly bright. But this time, instead of just disappearing when I stopped rubbing my eyes, it transformed into the most intricate chrysanthemum like object I've ever seen. In a funny way, it felt more immersive than the visions that I had experienced at the peak of the journey.

I tried this a few times and for me, it's a completely repeatable experience.

You may find you can get wonderful coloured fractal like patterns even when sober by pressing on your closed eyes.
It directly stimulates the optic nerve (as i understand it) - but not in everyone.
I experience it strongly.
One must be careful not to press too hard or frequently and cause damage though.

Edit: as far as experiencing this sober goes it may or may not be relevant that i have sound-sight synasthesia (particularly when dark) and occasional word(sight-sound)-taste synasthesia.

Bright blessings

That's interesting.

I get the bright light and green dots when sober, but not the chrysanthemum. Looks like the dmt accentuates the effect to a marked degree.
