Interesting site in Peru where some of the most ancient images of cactus use have been found. I found this interesting article about it being used as a sound chamber. Thought yall might find it interesting. Sound healing? http://www.ibtimes.co.uk...ncient-peruvian-site.htmNagdeo

Chavin de huantar was a ceremonial place ... Is something similar than Eleusis or Teotihuacan. Cool place.

Looks great. I wonder if you would be allowed to play some didgeridoo or handpan over there... chavin and other sites are also thought to be linked to an ancient mushroom culture that might predate the use of san pedro. Long live the unwoke.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that before. I've heard it theorized that there was some snuffing of plants because of images of images of people with large amounts of mucus coming from their noses. Also there were snuff tubes found as well. I'm curious to know more about the mushrooms stuff. I have heard it theorized that the culture came upland from the Amazon basin, so I could see that being quite possible. Nagdeo

here you go.. http://www.academia.edu/...ushrooms_of_Ancient_PeruThe iconography is clearly there to support an ancient mushroom cult associated with much of the real old megalithic cultures of the area. I cant remember if they mention chavin directly, but I think the idea is that the people of chavin came from either the coast, or from the jungle..I would assume if they came from the coast they descended from some of these other peoples..or from the same line these other peoples descended from. Is chavin older than pumu punku and the the stuff of the paracas culture? Long live the unwoke.

"Also there were snuff tubes found as well. I'm curious to know more about the mushrooms stuff" The artwork of the chavin, to me resembles that of bufotenine visions much more than mescaline visions. Anadenanthera colubrina is a good candidate. It is not hard to imagine them having access to the trees. The artwork of other cultures in the andes resembles bufotenine more closely than mescaline for me also, where the use of bufotenine conbtaining stuffs, drinks and smoke mixes has been confirmed. I mixed anadenanthera with san pedro once. I can imagine it being a combination that would have blown these people away, hence adopting it. I think there is an older site on the coast, which some archeologists have attributed to the people of chavin..and it seems to lack a lot of that detailed iconography. One idea is that they used san pedro already and then encountered the anadenanthera later, by some means(who knows?) and incorporated it into the rituals at chavin, hence the detailed bufotenine like iconography. Concidering the jungle animals in the art as well, some speculate that the Chavin either came from the amazon, or made trips to the amazon..where they might have encountered snuff using amazonians. Really though I think it's just a mystery. Long live the unwoke.

it was awesome, we harvested local specimens and made tea in a locally bought cauldron over a fire for a day, saw the ruins/ went inside (went into the restricted areas by sneaking past the guards with headlamps), toured the museum twice and hugged several large anthromorphic feline heads.... chavin was my favorite part of peru

All over meso america there are high tech sound chambers you really have to see the desendants of those people with real knowledge. In meso american the serpent ment knowledge, honesty and sacredness. In Christianity its the opposite. I know I few practitioners of the ancient mexican aztec knowledge. But alot has been christianised. Even in meso american times a diety would have a counterpart if discovered knowledge in a different culture exposed so
