I plan on following:

Fluffy funfest

Is there something I can do in place of step 1 in the non-polar wash?

"Step 1: Put the top/smaller bowl into the bottom/larger bowl and add enough boiling water to the BOTTOM bowl to match the level of the bark in the top bowl, either that or just until the top bowl floats. This is very simply to warm the naptha indirectly and safely."

I can get the required bowls but, was curious to know if there was another method?

I've use an old rice cooker or crock pot to warm my jars. As long as it's indirect heat, like with a hot water bath. Be careful heating flammable solvents Wink

So, I got all my supplies today and was wondering if it is possible to use wide mouth mason jars for the precipitation containers or is a larger surface area is better?

Can mason jars be used for the non polar wash in step 1 seems it may be easier to pour off the liquid.

SWIM uses wide mouth mason jars for freeze precipitation. They are great, and take up less space. Also, SWIM has found that the smaller the entrance to the container, the easier it is to pour.

I always use mason jars as the extraction vessel and for freeze precipitation. Not the same jars, mind you Smile

I use regular mason jars like this for the naphtha pull:

Then I use wider-mouthed jars like this for freeze precipitation:

The only challenge with using jars like that for freeze precipitation is getting it all your goodies scraped out Smile I end up just swishing some acetone in the jars once I can't get any more out of them and then using that acetone, along with more DMT and harmalas, to make some changa.

In the future I'll be using a container like this for freeze precipitation:

As long as the container is air tight, it'll be fine. But it's much easier to scrape out of a baking dish like that than a jar. The problem I've had with glass baking dishes without a tight lid is getting an air tight seal, so the lock & lock containers should prove very good for that purpose I think.

I use mason jars for freeze precipatation the only problem is trying to scrape crystals out of the bottom of a jar. That gets messy sometimes.

As for heating jars, I have a little heater that I sit my jars about one foot away from and turn it on its lowest setting. Works great but you can crack glass if you stress it too much.

In the past, when i`m used a tall Mason jar that makes it next to impossible to easily scrape out the goodies, i`ve added hot naptha, dissolved the goodies from the freeze precip, then evap onto a seperate pyrex dish (last picture from Dioxippus).
All the best.

I use a precipitation container almost identical to this, and haven't regretted it for a moment. A few sweeps of the razor blade and a butter knife for the corners and I'm done scraping in less than a minute.

Thanks all, I decided to order the shallow bake ware as they will make it easier now and in the future. I finally got my VM+P Naptha (it took forever to get here) so, I will be starting today in the evening.

For,

Step 4: Once you are satisfied with the "snow-globe" take it out and pour off the naptha. Make sure to pour it off slowly so none of the crystals spill out, then find a (preferably outdoors, fumes) place to lean the container against, the excess naptha will drip off and evaporate in a couple hours.
Sometimes the crystals are floating all over, usually just SLOWLY pouring the naptha off works, you may need to pour it through a coffee filter to get all the crystals though.

I will be doing pull after to pull to have multiples in the freezer without reusing the naptha. Is there something I can do with the naptha I pour off or should I just get rid of it?

Put the naphptha that you pour off right into a new glass vessel and put it right back in the freezer and just forget about it for a few days. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you find after leaving it there for a few days!

Also, a pyrex glass dish is way easier to use than a mason jar.

So, I did it yesterday. One issue I had was with the double boiler. I used a mason jar and it began to crack I had to quickly move contents to another container (ceramic) won't be doing that again. Other than that everything went smoothly.

In the tek it states to do pulls at 24 hrs and 48 hrs to get as much as possible. I did three consecutive pulls yesterday, is it ok to just cover the container and do pulls today and tomorrow or must something be done beforehand?

I figure since I will be doing more pulls today I will reuse the naptha, is there a limit to the amount of times it can be reused?

Finally, is it ok to gather multiple pulls in the same container if the pulls are done one after another? I only used 100g Mimosa and feel it is a waste to use a big glass bake dish for just one pull.
