Let's have Joe Rogan sue NatGeo for not being truthful? My avatar was taken from google images and is actually a work of art by NEIL GIBSON, credit where credit is due! Bodies don't have souls - souls have bodies Old enough to know better, young enough to try again

I could think of six people off the top of my head who'd set the record straight more accurately than Joe Rogan. "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." ~ hassan i sabbah "Experiments are the only means of attaining knowledge at our disposal. The rest is poetry, imagination." -Max Planck

Quote:Around 18 years ago i started to wake in the night and experience vivid hallucinations. I would see alien faces swirling with colours, these colours would be shining with light. I would see complex mathematical equations, fingerprints that would spiral fractals of colour and light, forests of colour and light. Only recently have i heard of DMT. I now know that this is what i have been experiencing for all of these years, nothing else can describe the things that i have been seeing. I only ever see these hallucinations in the night, after waking from a dream. I suffer from migraine headaches and see visual disturbances in the day time and i think this has something to do with what i see in the night. I have never heard of anyone else experiencing these hallucinations without taking an external dose of DMT. I have been researching tryptides and think this has something to do with my migraines and nocturnal hallucinations. I certainly think DMT needs to be researched further, it is an interesting chemical and should not be treated as a 'Drug'. Has anyone else ever had any hallucinations when waking from a dream? They tend to be closed eye hallucinations, with vivid colours and light seems to shine from the colours. By the way, i do not suffer from any mental health problems such as schizophrenia, i do not take drugs and i do not believe in aliens or gods etc. I am intrigued by the the whole experience of these hallucinations and am interested to see if anyone else has experienced this? This was in the replies under the preview. "Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before." -Edgar Allan Poe

What adds insult to injury is that this is the first video suggestion (3rd listing) when "DMT" is searched in Google

Obviously there is a small group of people who raise the conversation, but it's small. The massive public opinion on psychedelics is psychotic. It's like how Timothy Leary said Lsd causes psychotic behavior in those who don't take it. People will drink and eat drugs from white sugar to script meds and cannot acknowledge responsible use of mushrooms? I Love you.

I just finished watching the "Hallucinogens" episode. I am glad that they pointed out a couple of the many medicinal uses for these compounds. But it is very sad that these things are otherwise portrayed in such a negative light. One thing that I found interesting when they were interviewing the ex-cop about him busting a huge LSD lab and accidentally absorbing a massive dose of LSD: He was describing what happened in the hospital when he began having convulsions, and he said that the large dose of Valium the doctors administered "saved his life". I find it ironic that they momentarily glorify a pharmaceutical drug, that has massive potential for addiction and overdose, as having "saved his life" from the effects of LSD, which has very little toxicity potential...

Hello, Sorry to crash in on the forum, but I posted this quote on the Nat Geo website some time ago. I have read more about DMT and its natural production in the human body and was looking to explore further. I would be interested to know if anyone had experienced any hallucinations like i have mentioned? (Naturally) Or if they know of anyone that has. Would I be correct in thinking these hallucinations are similar to those of external doses of DMT? I only have these hallucinations when i wake from a dream. As of lately, i am able to experience these whenever I wake in the night. In the past year these experiences have been almost weekly. I am able to experience them at will. I read about a phenomenon called prisoners cinema, i am sure this is a similar thing. I read this can be experienced in an isolation tank (floatation tank) so i located one and tried it out. After about 5o mins i experienced violent hallucinations. Geometric points of light started to dance around and formed into a tunnel. I was then hurled at great speed down this tunnel and it just overwhelmed me, freaked me out something mad. I thrashed about and the hallucinations momentarily stopped. When they started again i saw millions of points of light. It felt like i was watching the universe from a great distance, it was much more peaceful. I've read of ancient people such as Bodhidharma who would meditate 'staring at walls'. He said that when you 'see the lights' to carry on. I think others have experienced this. I can't make any sense of what I am experiencing and was wondering if anyone else had gone through this? I have read of DMT and am considering doing an Ayahuasca retreat. Would this be wise? Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is hard to say with scientific accuracy what is causing your visions. It could be DMT, but neurochemistry and consciousness are incredibly complex. To say it is from one molecule is probably not true and a philosophical understatement.
Ever since my childhood I have had strange experiences very similar to what you describe but also different. I am bad at math so never saw any equations. Geometrical precision is the underlying spell.
If you feel the call to ayahuasca then do it. It will be good for you to further explore your visions under a new light. Everything I had ever been looking for was right here all along.
