I've been reading this forum for quite a while and I thought it is time to join in.

I am interested in quite a lot of stuff including music, the arts, literature, philosophy, audioengineering, cooking and of course: The sacred medicines!

Since most people around me react alienated when I discuss with them my ideas about Psychedelics, I think this is a good place to share my thoughts.

My path with these substances began with LSD, with which I had quite a few healing and revelatory experiences, tough I later completely abandoned it in favor of the mushrooms. With them I have a established quite a relationship over the years. I prefer to take them at night in silence, listening in and paying attention to what they are showing me. I use them as a healing tool to clear up my mind and refocus my intentions and attitude.

I never had an experience with DMT because honestly, when I read reports it just seems too scary. But as I progress in my explorations of Psylocibin it is getting weirder and weirder, resembling the themes people report to encounter inside the DMT flash: The Hyperspace Clowns, Elf Chatter, organic machines, the Nursery, the feeling of traveling or becoming alien landscapes, transformation of language into Hyperspace objects etc.

So I think it is time to take the plunge.

Hi to you all

Gratefully

Hello PLG,

A warm welcome to the Nexus...

After everything you've read about DMT, isn't it possible that experiencing very similar phenomena on mushrooms is a result of a certain degree of auto-suggestion?

If you are going to try DMT I would refrain from taking the plunge if I were you, getting your toes wet first certainly wouldn't hurt... Start with low doses and take it from there...there is enough fun to be had at sub-breakthrough levels, don't worry Pleased

Regardless of your past experiences with psychedelics, please consider inviting someone to be your sitter - I mention this because it appears that you are used to "traveling" solo...

I hope this doesn't come across as patronizing, if so I offer you my sincere apologies...

PLUR

Hi dooby

Yes, the thing about auto-suggestion, I was wondering about that too. I think it plays a huge part in the experience because the relation of object and observer is so different because it happens all internally. Also these substances tend to get you in a kind of suggestive state, like under hypnosis, where you can relate to any kind of crazy ideas.

But then, the last time I took them was with a friend and we did a nice little ceremony, burning incense, meditating before the trip, and I was in a really calm state not expecting anything. But as soon as the visions started I found myself in this cartoonish, circus like place, with loud babbling and chattering and fractal madness everywhere. But I don't know, these things are so hard to describe. Putting it in words feels a bit like destroying the memory of it. The words replace the actual memory.

I dont't know, I don't even expect DMT to be similar. It's just the words people have found to describe DMT trips. I can easily apply them to my mushroom experiences, so I'm curious.

And yes of course, I'm planning to start really low. But I think it will be a plunge anyway Smile
Tip.
