Hello, all.
Let me start off by stating that any activities or personal factors I may mention are purely hypothetical, fictional and merely a form of my own entertainment.
I'm new to spice and all it pertains to, but very interested in seeing what it has in store for me personally.
Being somewhat of an empathic person, psychedelics have always proved to be nothing but beneficial in my life. I'm a very avid mushroom enthusiast, more so than other hallucinogens.
I became very interested in spice when a close friend told me of their remarkable life-changing experience from it. I wanted to experience that, still do in fact to this day I have yet to, but it will come.
I'm a DIY person. For anything and everything. Why pay someone else to do something you're perfectly capable of, right?
I wanted to get my hands on my own spice, call it my own, know that the only reason for this batches existence was solely due to my time and devotion to it.
Thus began my journey.
I stumbled across this site and poured over the extraction teks initially deciding on an MHRB extraction, finding it very difficult to find some I came across what I believed to be second-best. ACRB.
After diving into extractions and trying to figure out which one to follow I decided to go with thick-light's A/B extraction.
Being new to this I did my absolute best to follow it down to a "t". I didn't cut any corners and did my best to understand and research every step of the process, but alas, things go wrong.
After the initial boils I put my RB solution in a gallon mason jar I had purchased from a local store. Then prepped a warm water heat bath in the sink, added lye over-cautiously, watched as the color turned darker and darker then added naphtha.
Here's the good part.
I then grabbed the convenient push-down lid compete with flimsy plastic/rubber seal and proceeded to shake.
Needless to say, poof.
The lid popped off, spraying (excuse my language) red shit fucking everywhere. My girlfriend has a serious case of OCD, and let me tell ya, she was thoroughly enthusiastic about the ordeal covering and staining up her meticulously cleaned porcelain sink and countertops.
Not having any other big jars and refusing to let this impede my process I did the only logical thing I could think of. Stirred it up to the point of swirling and being unable to separate and dispersing it into two half-gallon jars.
I then kept warm in a water bath before continuing and spent three hours scrubbing the kitchen.
Then I proceeded.
The first two pulls I was only able to obtain goo. It was depressing. The only place in town that carried bestine was on backorder so recrystallization with that method was out of the question.
I was beginning to lose hope and become thoroughly discouraged.
At this point I had three jars with their bottoms covered in an opaque goo.
Two from the pulls and one from freeze precipitation after.
I did the only thing I could do at that point. Attempted a re-x with naphtha at that point.
I boiled water on my gas stove, turned it off, heated up a half jar of naphtha and dispersed it between the three jars.
Once they started to dissolve I combined the pulls.
I read a users recommendation not to combine your pulls, but in my case all was well, small crystals started forming after cooling. All was not lost. Things were looking better.
Back to my base jars.
I really didn't want go through obtaining any more goo from my pulls so before attempting third pull I added 50g of Morton Ice Cream rock salt to each jar.
I then shook the jars, let them separate completely and repeated more times than my arms cared for, then extracted.
I placed my naphtha solution jar at a 30* angle in a dark cool location and hoped.
Let me tell ya, that salt is a miracle worker.
Some of the biggest whitest crystals I've seen started to form in my naphtha jar. I mean huge. Not even a yellow tint, easily distinguishable as shimmering white in the yellowed naphtha.
At that point I started getting excited.
I looked at my base jars and HOLY CRAP.
That little layer of naphtha that I couldn't get out with my baster had become completely plastered with crystals growing out of it. Long, beautiful, pure white crystals. Has anyone seen this before?
Any input on how to effectively remove them?
Thanks for reading this novel, if you did and any and all input is greatly appreciated!
