Hey guys, had a question since one of my friends is freaking out a bit.

After taking a trip last night he woke up this morning with constricted pupils and is extremely worried.

I tried looking up constricted pupils with dmt usage but can't find anything..is this something just some eyedrops can fix?

We also were near a firepit, had some drinks too so I'm wondering if that could be a cause as well.

Could you elaborate on 'took a trip' a little? Ie what was taken, time of ingestion etc.

Time:11:30 PM
Alcohol throughout the night - 3 beers
Setting - Oustide, near firepit
40mg DMT in vaporizer.

He also said he didn't have a good night sleep just from the drinking (not a heavy drinker).

All the stuff I have been reading on the net so far doesn't point to the DMT as far as I can tell. And everyone else's eyes are perfectly fine. But my friend said his are like a pinpoint.

Vaporized DMT would not leave any pupillary effects the day after use, and as you rightly say pupillary constriction is not what tryptamines do; pupil dilatation is the expected response.

There are very few causes of true bilateral pupillary constriction alone ie without other symptoms/signs suggesting a cause; the common ones are opioid use and certain eyedrops.I dont think DMT explains what you describe.

Hmm...What I am wondering now,is I wonder if the DMT may have been cut with any opiates? Or do opiates get destroyed by heating them up anyways?

Just seems weird the first time my friend does it, the constricted pupils thing happens.. Eye drops didn't work either.

Opium needs to be vaporised i've heard recently, since everytime i smoked it never worked.

Altho I highly doubt it would have been cut with opium. Highly doubt the constriction from opiates last so long too, I may be mistaken, but Ive never really bothered to check for constriction the day after..

also heard around the sight here that opiates diminish a psychedelic trip, I would test it out... but i prefer to have a good trip.

Im sure its nothing to worry about, altho if your friend is really worried and its extreme maybe he should go see a doc

Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully by tonight or at least tomorrow morning after some sleep I'm hoping it will all be back to normal. He said he feels fine, vision is fine, nothing else is wrong. It was just weird that no one besides him had that happen.

And hah yeah, I saw that eye drop comment lol. Well he doesn't take them, but since it wasn't changing I told him to buy some anyways to try out.

I guess if my friend ever does try it again, which I doubt now, I will check his eyes before and after to see if it may be the DMT doing it to him.
