What if at some point after you take your last breath, and cease to be
You wake up.
You realise this realty, this human you dreamt you are,
was a dream. All of it, a thought.
Even with all its inconceivable detail, all its complexity,
it never actually existed except in the mind of the real you,
the Dreamer.

The dreamer wakes up a bit foggy from such a surreal dream
realising the version of organisms dreamt of,
physical matter and the elements,
couldn't be more different from what you actually are
and what actual is.

Reality never existed,
the universe is not a real place in space and time.
All the wars, all the history of planet earth.
the Bible, God, Muhammed and Shiva,
Physics, string theory and extra dimensions.
Past lives, after life, and death.
Your mother, your best mates, your beloved cat.
Even your own thoughts and dreams.

None of this existed but in the mind of the dreamer,
Which is YOU.

An intelligence so advanced it has no physical matter,
No space or time. Such things are only an idea or concept.
It exists only as a conscious intelligence.
Immaterial.

An intelligence so advanced it can support and create with thought
an infinite amount of reality's such as ours which we perceive as real
because we feel we are real.
because we are dreaming.

Realities we go to wars over, bomb each other and sacrifice children in the name of an omnipotent being that is but a creative concept
Yet we hold on too tight
We do horrible and beautiful acts for nothing more than and elaborate illusion

We are a figment of thought, imprisoned by the realism that traps us
because the idea that nothing exists is too difficult
and the complex detail of this world to massive to accept.

There is, in the dream, a heaven, a hell, paranormal activity and magic
and some dreamt beings go to these places such as an after life and the dream continues for them.
Some reincarnate and live countless lives in countless worlds and realities,
And the dream continues for them.
Some close there created eyes for the last time and their story ends.
In short all possibilities are real but take center stage under the umbrella of actual
non existence.

Relying on its creative powers of thoughts and dreams it sets out to create yet another reality.
The consciousness has been doing this an infinite number of times and will never stop.
For its the only way for it to realise and experience itself.

Without awakening from the dream how would it know its dreaming and what it is?
Floating alone in the void, how could consciousness know its self?
How could something recognise silence if all there ever was was sound?
Sound would be silence and never noticed to be anything at all.

The consciousness rests and remembers what it is.
It is all there ever was and all there could actually ever be.
Yet, without self awareness, a reflection, even it would not be.
Could not be.

As philosophers have tussled over our dreamt history as a advanced species
something can't come from nothing.
The conscious intelligence can't actual create anything.
There can be no matter in the void for matter does not exist.
Such things can only seem to exist in its thoughts and ideas.

We are just a dream, a thought, a method consciousness uses to recognise itself.
None of this exists. Not you, not your world.
If there is something we could call reality it is the void.

Have fun and play with whatever brings you joy in life.
Be good to one another and love un conditionally
Because although an illusion it matters
There is no reason to assume that the dreamer awakens upon death.
There is no way to calculate how long the dream lasts when the intelligence creating it resides in timelessness.
For even time is just a thought.

Live life and find joy,
but do not take yourself or any of it too seriously
for none of it
and none of us
Exist.

I actually cried at one point. Extremely beautiful writings. Strikes me deeply.

The faceless behind all the faces, spanning worlds, spanning realities, forever entangled within it's own creation, it's own dream. Impartial to all polarities. True infinity.

As a wise member here once stated: WITHINITY

much love,

Beautifully written, olympsu mon! It waxes and wanes poetically, flowing to the heart of what matters most to the questioning soul, with much deep insight and dignity. And your message is spot-on, we do not exist apart from our own sentient dream of individual experience. Nothing is ultimately real and we create our own impermanent reality by dreaming we exist as isolated parts of the whole. We are each of us, truly the opposite, mirrored refection of the Insubstantial Void. Where it is One and we are the many echoes of it's mysterious silence... where it is formless and limitless, we the very definition of what it is to be formed of limitation.

So yeah, as egos or even souls, we are in fact dreaming of being other than no-thingness, for we are surely things interacting with other things. Or are we? Rationally, we quantify and seek to manifest this reality through our thoughts and our identification within this material illusion. Yet if enlightened to the deception of human mind, just who awakens to realize this profound truth? Confused

This is one of the grand ironies... for one cannot be both asleep and awake. These polarities seem to pulse rhythmically, for as we engage self-transformation and spiritual attunement, we dance upon the fine line between being and non-being. If self is a mirage or dreamscape, that each soul has... just who awakens from the dream, to remember that this enigmatic no-thing is what we all essentially are? Who is left to observer or witness the dissipation?

Can there be a level whereby we are still dreaming but far more lucidly? A state of being which is free of the impermanent deception of one's very mind and thought patterns... but simultaneously be acutely aware of being consciousness at it's most fundamental level, as a middle ground or balancing point, betwixt the artifice of our ego-selves and the emptiness of the Void. So, who are we when we are not unconsciously dreaming? Is it even possible to accept that the idea of awakening is real or just another aspect of the dream?

Ironically, there seems to remain some quintessence of conscious-awareness, still shining effulgently, like a sparkling diamond in an immeasurably bright light. It does not know itself... or any separate things at all. But it surely seems to experience an effulgence of being and a kind of cosmic joy, when one inter-phases within the Unified Field. We immerse our spirits into it's still vacuum. It remains ineffable but we glean it's presence and linger with the dreamscape to rejoice in the enrapturing epiphany. Consciousness alone remains to be aware of naught but consciousness. This is perhaps why Gautama Buddha proclaimed with such sublime majesty, "I am awake". Thumbs up

That being said, just who then is awakened? The Void or Infinite Brahman, is surely not able to be either asleep or awake, as these are aspects of duality and the counterpoint of subject and object. There is an existential paradox, so self-shattering it literally stops the mind. In this beatific silence... there is still something happening. Ego dissolves into quietude and in this state of no mind, all conceptualization is wholly stilled.

This remembrance of the Infinite, paradoxically seats itself within every beating human heart and is present within every iota of all that exists, as specific things and delineated paradigms. But it being of an eternal nature, remains unmoving within the exploding universe of moving particles and the flooding current of oscillating waves of potentiality, superimposed over vast fields of energy, as it emerges and then retreats back into the absolute silence of the Clear Light of the Void.

Maybe it is what we are at the very core and center of our lucidly dreaming experience of being? And while we do not really exist, we are aware of this understanding. It then naturally follows that we are that no-thingness as well as all of this everythingness... and naught but that interplay. Tat Tvam Asi. Cool

Thank you all from my heart. This was indeed a touching one for me to write and I have been trying to formulate it in my head for some time.

I ended up accidentally taking a pretty solid dose of LSD a few nights back, long story, lol and it all came together for me so I could get it on paper. Funny thing was I didn't even want to trip that night.

I, we, all of our concerts and understandings are up grades and evolving process`s. This one has been coming for a while stemming from a mind blowing ayahuasca ceremony now 2 years ago while living in Peru the first time.

R.S.- as always thank you for your addition to this discussion. They are always a grand touch and food for thought. Originally this essay was to be titled God the dreamer, but with all the stigmas and emotions attached to that word I baulked. Also I didn't want people to get stuck there as I find happens a lot.
Feeling God is the final frontier or end of the

It was necessary for me to be stripped of all my beliefs and understandings out in the forest as I was. It was needed because they were bs.

Not that the ideas and concepts themselves were bs but because my reasons for adopting these truths were. I, me, myself was full of sh#+.

I believe things because they felt good. Because they sounded clever. Because, well simply, I wanted to.
I was shown the error of my convictions and was basically spiritually demolished. Shattered to pieces and left alone naked, in the smoking rubble.

I returned home from the forest. Confused ultra sensitive yet very much at peace and cleansed. It wasn't for months of being back in the states that I even realised there was a little bit of sorrow within me for my lost spirit.

I spoken with a friend and she said one sentence that completed my months of integration.
"Sometimes we must be stripped bare to find our truths".

For me this is that time period.

Oh Olympus, I sure hope this isn't the only place this is posted. That was an amazing post and I know there's so many out there who want to read this! So great.

The only thing I've been able to call this thing often boiled down to "God", which I agree is too dogmatic of a word, is nature. Not outside and trees and everything like that, but just the voidless void, a very patient sea of consciousness that works very slowly. I don't even like using that word. The nameless. Its not easy to name a paradox haha.

That also reminded me of my currently held conclusion, (best guess) is the problem of consciousness to form what was before? Full of inherent flaws in the discussion itself, I still try to support/disprove the thought of maybe at a moment, consciousness accidentally occurred. Like a sea of white noise, which is all sound, randomly makes a song. Instead of returning to noise and chaos, it stays because consciousness now cannot be undone. And everything that exists is like a spectrum filter. Take light, if you use a filter you see any one particular color from white light. And like so conscious beings are set to a bandwidth so to speak. So consciousness has outsourced many narrow range filters to experience itself and report back to itself in detail. Things become more complex because more details are constantly needed until..........?

Then I think, would not the spark of consciousness be the big bang too?

You know why the night sky is not blindingly bright? Olbers paradox says it should be. That's an interesting read.

Well I'll end this with Bill Hicks "We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no death, and life is but a dream with the imagination of ourselves."

Oh and now scientists use jewels, lol, to explain everything!

Well, y'know, it's like this experience that I had was like, y'know, erm, it was kind of the most profound experience I've had in me life, like

What if we are deluded in thinking that our dreams belong to us alone?..or that what is dreamed represents only illusions? What if our obsession with dichotomies is nothing more than a fallacy, and everything is real?

I have grown to believe that the comparisons we tend to make between what is real and what is not real in reguards to less than "physical" mental phenomena could be nothing more than a symptom of our inability to rationalize something that cannot be rationalized.

What if the starving mother in your dream, also owned a portion of that dream?

In this post, and specifically this paragraph, you focus on something I've been contemplating a great deal recently. Almost ALL humans tend to share the assumption that there is ONE underlying experiential reality, though we fight and argue over what that ONE reality might be. But if this world, this experience, is a type of simulation, a type of virtual reality, then the "programmer" ( not necessarily a "god" ) could have given us each our own subjective experience. All bets are off.

Perhaps you experience an Islamic afterlife and I experience Hindu reincarnation?

Perhaps your subjective experience of "red" is my subjective experience of "blue".

And so on.
