While sitting here for myself and smoking some weed (two minutes ago), something just snapped and it occurred to me that we have enough resources on our beautiful planet to live perfect, beautiful little everyday lives while sleeping some, eating some, working some, and having enough time to spare for some expressive or spiritual works. Can you imagine such a planet, solving the Great Mystery all at one time? So the only thing feeding our conflicts are our own delusions. Nothing spiritual or esoteric, just something in ourselves we perpetuate for no reason except only to, it seems, keeping ourselves from realizing that we have enough resources on our beautiful little planet to live perfect, beautiful little everyday lives while sleeping some, eating some, working some, and having enough time to spare for some expressive or spiritual works. Sorry about the looping effect if you found it cumbersome, but I thought it gave the thing some artistic effect.

I wholeheartedly believe this is possible, infact, many tribes from different cultures around the world live in such abundance.

Us westerners are lead to believe we have to work busy lives to be abundant, but this has stripped us of our ability to live free and express our inner desires and creativity.

Such a sad way for a race to end up living for.
Change is coming.

i'm not sure we really live in such abundunce as you state...floods, droughts, pests, destructive storms, all of these factors are completley natural out of human hands and do happen and could wipe out an entire "tribe" in one swoop. What then? I also have a hard time believeing the fact that because people were closer to the earth in past times they had some deep understanding of spiritualitly and knowledge of a higher power. I doubt these people had the time too think about such things on a constant basis due to the fact that they were busy busting their asses to feed themselves and their families. Thats why villages had shamans and later on priests, because the average tribe member wasent "equiped" to speak with the ancestors, or experience trance states, so they would appoint a spiritual leader to do this for them. They didnt always have time to sit and meditate onlife because they had to tend the fields, hunt gather and what not to sustain their tribe.

I really don't feel stripped of that ability, actually I think it's perfectly doable.

And of course there will be floods, yes. But I am sure there are enough resources around for everyone, regardless.

I think this it is possible on paper. But due to humankinds natural inhumanity it will be a long time coming, if not downright impossible.

I am a little concerned that this view of living in harmony goes against our competetive, ambitious nature. As far as i can see we have always been a bit of a shitty species when it comes to being fair to eachother, and we probably always will be. Not only that but i think there are just too damned many of us.

If mother nature decided to cull two thirds of the population with a natural disaster it might push us in the right direction. A bit of tough love, show us who"s boss and help us restructure our value system.

But i guess a natural cull wouldn"t be person specific so a lot of arseholes would be left behind and we may end up with a post apocalyptic scrabble for survival ( a bit like Mad Max 2) and the whole cycle would repeat untill the human race had extinguished itself and we would be reincarnated as cats, or ducks. But i heard somewhere that ducks sometimes procreate by gang rape and have been known to commit necrophilia and that cats play with and torture animals for fun. So we would eventually evolve into an even worse species than we already are.

It"s complicated....

exactly.

and ive seen the whole duck gang rape thing up close and personal and it's pretty dramatic for the female. They even hold her head under water for the duration...yikes...

Why would you want to wait for that?

I think one of the best things about being human is that we actually have a choice as to how we want to live our lives.

Do we? That makes me even more depressed that throughout history so many people have continued to make some rather disturbing choices in relation to their fellow human beings.
I believe that we are selfish, even when we are being nice to eachother.

I do actually agree with your sentiments.

Bucky Fuller and The heads of the Venus Project have been saying this since the 1960's.

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward [film on youtube] dives into this too.

Its definitely physically possible and desirable[except to those who benefit from scarcity]. Politics and moneyed interests keep it from happening.

I've heard it said that everyone on the earth could live like a millionaire if resources were used equitably. But because of the hoarding billionaires some are left starving.
In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.-J.C. Lilly

I think we all come to this realization then the task of manifesting it becomes so daunting that you fall into a great sadness and humility that each one of us has to do the best we can in our own lives to contribute what we can to create the world we want. There needs to be a complete restructuring of society, community and humanity. I believe it cannot be accomplished in the form of a movement or group of people because it is seen as a threat to what foundation has been set in place. Instead it needs to be brought forth from within society, government, institutions, schools, etc., which seems very unrealistic.
