Hello my fellow nexians. I am a new member to the forums and have been researching this website for quite some time and am ready to attempt extracting my own spice. I have recently acquired 464gm of acrb. I'm going to set aside 64gm for exploration in aya using acrb and Syrian rue. Next I will do a 50gm test extraction using cybs hybrid max ion tek and if all goes well, do a larger extraction with the remaining acrb. I will follow the tek to a T except instead of a glass pyrex dish for my NPS crystallization dish I will use a glass bowl. I have some questions regarding this tek using acrb instead of mhrb.
1 - in the tek the salting is done after the acid wash but in parentheses it says to add the salty solution during the basification stage for acrb. I just want to clarify when to add the saline solution for acrb.

2 - the bark is not filtered and the bark plus acidic solution is added to extraction vessel correct? Only time the bark is filtered is when using thick lights tek correct?

3 - Which would be the preferred tek for acrb, thick lights or cybs? I'm reading of good yields with both teks but cybs seems a little easier and straight forward for beginners.

Thanks my fellow nexians for any help that can be provided! I know to the next step is to actually attempt the extraction to get the experience down. Thanks!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Welcome to the Nexus!

1 - It doesn't matter, the salt is non-reactive and only serves to increase the ionic strength of the solution and push more alkaloids into your non-polar solvent.

2 - No need to filter the bark out, you might even get a higher yield by leaving it in.

3 - Cyb's tek should work just fine. I tend to prefer simpler procedures anyway because they have less opportunities for you to mess up and lose some of your yield. I've used a simple no-heat STB extraction on ACRB with good results.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could try adding dry ice to your NP solvent to clean up your extract and remove the NMT (up to 50% of a crude ACRB extract by weight). I've had very nice results with the addition of this simple step.

Hey thanks for a swift reply and answering all questions I had. Seems like I will start with cybs tek. Yes from the information I have gathered most acrb extractions usually result in a DMT/nmt goo that is a little harder to work with. I would like to try some of this full spectrum too in making some enhanced leaf but also want some DMT xtals to explore that route as well. I'll definitely look into separating the nmt out using dry ice in my NPS if I get pure goo and no xtals. Thanks!
