I just started reading up on FASA/FASI and am more than a little intrigued. Being able to dry fumarate salts in the oven sounds wonderful and combining that with a xylene pull sounds like the perfect was to make jungle fumarate. I was reading somewhere in a thread, however, about how the FASA method made some fumarates of plant oils/impurities that were not easy to clean. Another thread I read about talked about how freebase crystals made from a FASA wash tasted worse and more plasticy and burnt. Is it really not possible to clean fumarate crystals of these impurities or would freebasing the acid cook and then pulling with xylene filter out any impurities already? Would one have to deal with plant oils in the fumarate as a result of FASA and recrystallize any freebase one makes?

Whoever said that FASA creates uncleanable salts impurities or that converted freebase tastes worse really dont know what they are talking about

Fumarates are awesome to clean up, really easy and fun. Converted freebase doing water crystallization method is the smoothest DMT vapor I ever experienced no doubt.

OK I wasn't sure-definitely read it on more than one thread. Is that the FASW method you're referencing?

What do you mean?

Personally I rather work first with FASI or FASA, precipitate the cleaner fumarates, and then do a water wash to get the last bit of dmt fumarate plus excess fumaric acid plus concentrated ´other´ alkaloids.

Going for FASW straight away works, but results in a more impure product that you have to go through further clean up to have something you can accurately dose with.

Oh, you said water crystallization so I assumed that's what the W in FASW stood for. Will acetone or IPA get rid of the jungle fumarates during cleaning, because I'd like to keep them.

You can check this thread how to clean fumarates:

By water crystallization, I meant when turning the fumarates into freebase, type 1 in this link:

Hope that helps
