If everything has DMT why can't we extract from everything? Options

Hey guys so I don't know if this is a myth or not but I heard that almost everything has DMT in it.

So my questions is why can't we extract from everything like leaves and branches? Is it because it's hard to do due to other chemicals or is there just very low content?

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

I'm assuming you're not talking about people and dogs and squirrels, are you? Smile

DMT does occur in many organisms, plant or animal, but the concentrations are very small. Think about morphine and milk. There is some 300 nanograms of morphine per liter, so you would need to somehow extract over 3,000,000 liters of milk to theoretically obtain a gram of morphine. That, without considering how to do it.

Same goes for many alkaloids, including DMT. People use certain plant sources mostly because the concentration makes it worthwhile, and also because it's relatively simple.

Vodsel is absolutely correct, but I'm going tag something onto this: while there are many, many plants that don't contain DMT there are many plants that we know of that contain usable quantities of DMT (and some other fun, substituted tryptamines), and almost certainly there are more that we haven't seen yet.

Just because most of the plants don't contain usable quantities doesn't mean that we should stop looking, either Smile

Hey thanks for the info! I might look into creating other tryptamines.
