alkaloid extractions have a tendency to extract alkaloids.
i wouldn't think the procedure to be much different to DMT extraction, except maybe the solubility of the solvent.
but the fact he used heptane/naphtha to clean the product, and it was still active, shows that it is probably readily soluble in naphtha (used in most teks), and i would presume it would be soluble in aromatic solvents (limonene/xylene/toluene) as well.
