Thanks to you for your intro and for opening up like this, reading it has been quite a ride.

My first thought was something like "No wonder he's a seeker, considering the pushes and twists and beatings life made him go through". But then again, I'm not gay, I haven't been in jail, I wasn't abused -that I know of- and most times in my life I had someone covering my back, so my life so far has been pretty easy compared to your experience... but I'm a seeker too. So my first thought didn't deserve a second.

Maybe a tough life makes a difference in the sense that it puts you close to the edge, repeatedly, and from the edge you can spot what's beyond more easily.

I certainly haven't seen elves through a hole in my bedroom wall, or anything similar. Well, at least not without slipping a substance into my system.

Welcome to the Nexus, I hope this place helps in your personal quest.

Hi Vodsel,
Thank you for your input! Life certainly was hard for the first 21 years, and I have to inform that it has been quite the "charmed" life from the age 21 and on, save the passing of my bestie! But it'll find it's way to light soon enough. That was only a route I took, and I am in a much different state of presence, one could call it blissful knowledge now, or at least it is what I'm currently aware of.

A good spiritualist and author friend of mine once told me she wouldn't trade places with me if she could, but than recanted on it after getting to know me for who I am. So many seekers so much to seek. I for one am grateful there are the people who have had an "easier" time of finding that they are seeking truth about life, or all of my friends would be a bit on the depressing side. I myself know how to let go of all of that negative feeling I had during my life's trials, and just take the good with me. I'm that "glass is half full" kind of guy;-) I hope it didn't come across like a poor me! Not at all intended. It takes all types, right?

No, not at all... Poor Mes are not my type, I had to deal with one for many years so I had my share already. Precisely I felt like replying because yours was an account, not a complaint. Regardless, I'm glad to know things changed for you, and you were able to pull a good attitude out of that. Sounds like the person I met after the Poor Me. Definitely more my thing, I'm sure she would sympathize with what you wrote if she came closer and started to read over my shoulder.

Absolutely gorgeous! I do believe there is a silver lining to every cloud, even if it comes after we're "through" here. ;-)
Glad you found yours! I've been reading your posts. You are one VERY well read man. An attribute I gladly welcome when in cyber conversation! (Does anybody use that word anymore? Cyber? I dunno.)

Finally an out for my facebook, which is a great site for pics and such, but this site seems to be a little more invaluable for some things I would like to get out in the "open", and to open up for me with all of the knowledge in some key subjects of interest.

Hi yogiB,

Welcome, and thank you for writing such an open and honest introduction. This site truly is a beautiful community and I'm sure you'll find yourself quite at home in no time.

Is this who I think it is? :-)
If it is, it was a true pleasure meeting you and your partner. You're both wonderful people.

If you want any help navigating the site please let me know.

Welcome to the nexus friend,

Maybe those among us who started online over fifteen years ago still think in terms of "cyber-something", and we are privileged (?) to see the the full flip as offline/irl slowly takes over the prefix spot instead.

I used facebook too, but most of my old contacts there would be too puzzled by the topics that generally interest me now - plus I don't really feel comfortable sharing them with the random NSA operative as well... leave facebook for casual talk, viral stuff and captioned cats Smile

Namaste and welcome to the Nexus YogiB!

An absolutely wonderful introductory essay.

Much love from to another, cheers.
"Many of us who have experienced psychedelics feel very much that they are sacred tools. They open spiritual awareness."
"The elimination of the fear of death transforms the individual's way of being in the world." -Stanislav Grof

"My advice to people today is as follows: if you take the game of life seriously, if you take your nervous system seriously, if you take your sense organs seriously, if you take the energy process seriously, you must turn on, tune in, and drop out."
"Drop Out--detach yourself from the external social drama which is as dehydrated and ersatz as TV. Turn On--find a sacrament which returns you to the temple of God, your own body. Go out of your mind. Get high. Tune In--be reborn. Drop back in to express it. Start a new sequence of behavior that reflects your vision." -Timothy Leary

Hi Wearepeople, and Cailieg!
Unfortunately I can't reply to messages at this time due to restrictions of the forum... Perhaps if you can PM me, as I don't have a way of responding right now... I apologize for the inconvenience, but the rules are the rules! ;-) Private message me any time!

I absolutely agree on that. And it seems the masses using social media outlets are going with whatever "current" the stream seems to be pulling them in. I'm no longer any good at being pulled in a mass direction.
