Hi - I'm so pleased I discovered this forum of like-minded individuals.
I am travelling to Peru for the first time next month, and will be experiencing my first Ayahuasca ceremony with Shaman Diego Palma, who I've been told is highly reputable. I would love some pointers. I know the experience is different for everyone, and I wanted to do a whole week retreat but was advised it might be too much so I should stick to 1 ceremony. Have done lots of research but advice from experienced travellers are most valuable.

I also heard a ceremony might be held in Cape Town (where I'm based) in October this year, and if anyone has some info on that I'd be grateful. I am very excited, and mildly anxious at the same time.

I look forward to reading this forum from top to bottom and connecting with you all.

Hey Bugsy - nice to meet you too! I am flying on the 19th of this month. Thrilled and slightly apprehensive about it all! Will definitely share my experiences.
I plan on doing an Aya ceremony on 27 Sept, then Machu Pichhu thereafter and so on. Will be back on 8 Oct and make contact. Take care and chat soon!

Diego is a very good facilitator probably the most loved in the Cusco/Pisac area. You are in good hands. His ceremonies are a nice blend of traditional and creative practices. I also recommend staying at El Molle just down the road from The Royal Inka hotel in Pisac. Its very affordable and my good friends Roberto and Ximena run a great communal property there with a lot of love.
Have fun
