I came here, or course, in my search. I'm broadly read and informed on other-consciousness and little experienced. For years I've been planning on venturing to Mexico, Central and South America to find the beginnings of healing.

Part of this journey begins in October of this year when I go to Mexico to study with a Curandera that focuses on the Temazcal - the Meso-American Sweat Lodge.

olympus mon - Thank you for your information on the purge. It was something that I'd read extensively about and, although it's a feeling I'm not too fond of it was something that I saw as a cleanse. I am reassured and breathe a sigh of relief. It was one of your postings that I had come across that brought me here in the first place. My deepest gratitude.

I have been hesitant to make my journey because of my perceived fear of traveling to a "tourist" mill of sorts. I am a simple person and don't need the spa treatment - that's not what i'm looking for and although human kindness and hospitality are welcome, massages and yoga sessions do not need to be part of it.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to travel sometime next year. I would probably only be able to travel for 2 weeks at most due to my work and family responsibilities.
