I am a quadriplegic and I have taken a variety of hallucinogens (LSD, mushrooms, Jeffrey, Molly, E). If it makes you trip, I highly recommend NOT!!!!!!! doing it. Everything you can't move and feel will shake violently and you will have the most miserable 8 -12 hours of your life. I ask you folks if there is a difference between these and datura, DMT, and peyote. I'm a fairly healthy guy and have ran my body the wringer hoping to find one my body won't react violently to. I'm on a spiritual journey as cheesy as it sounds and I hear DMT can help one along this course.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hi Eron,

Thanks for sharing your valuable experience with us. Did the shaking occur with all of the substance you´ve mentioned? What dose did you take, may I ask? My intuition is that a full-on psychedelic dose (like 3,5+g of Mushrooms) might deliver a different dose than a lower, psycholytic dose (in the range of 1g of Mushrooms)... (But please consider that I am no doctor, so I am not giving any advice here)

- I don´t have any experience with Datura, and I don´t think I will ever go for a higher dose - read some trip reports on Internet to see how people react to it: mental blackouts not remembering anything, while their bodies walking around and performing tasks, talking to people as if nothing was happening... so please be very careful with this stuff.

- DMT lasts "only" 3-5 minutes, but can be a very heavy experience both on your mind and your body (= blood pressure goes up fast etc). On the other hand, with a higher dose, my mind/spirit get completely disconnected from my body.

- I don´t know about peyote, but mescaline lasts very long - I can "feel" a large dose after more than 24 hours. Lower/moderate dose can be a very nice and "mellow" experience, but also can be quite quite stimulating for the body.

Let´s see what other Nexians have to say here.

And, of course, welcome to the Nexus! Thumbs up

Since DMT only is a 5-10 minute experience, I imagine there wouldn't be much harm in trying it out. Worst comes to worst, you'll be involuntary shaking for 5-10 minutes, but at least it won't be 8-12 hours. You may also find that dealing with the involuntary shakes for those few minutes, may amount to some of the most valuable minutes of your life.

Now of course I'm not a quadriplegic or physically disabled, nor do I know anyone as such who has taken psychedelics, but if I had to take an educated guess as to whether or not you would shake from DMT, unfortunately I would have to guess that you probably would. DMT (for me) tends to be a very "energy-oriented" experience. The energies flow around the room, composing visible and invisible "hyper-matter" that can interact with the body, creating involuntary, guided motions. When the energy makes contact with the limbs, it can cause them to move. Sometimes the motions are very purposeful, symmetrical, and sacred seeming. Other times as in the case of listening to music, it can create entrained oscillations, perhaps causing the body to rock, or the limbs oscillate. It feels like dealing with magnetism (but it's not). This is of course not always the case, but it is something to keep in mind as a possibility.

Being on a spiritual journey won't sound so cheesy once you've been on the path for awhile. Nor once you have some real life changing experiences. Everyone here is on a spiritual journey. Thumbs up

I would say go for it. I haven't experienced the shaking myself. I can say that it might actually be the psych for you. When you breakthrough you are not aware of your body and I would be extremely curious to hear what your experiences were like.

Have you always been quadrip? Sounds also that you mostly do larger doses? I find that very small doses of mushrooms are very light and expansive. Also whats "jeffrey"?

I think what he is referring to as a "Jeffrey" is a joint laced with multiple unknown substances

I too am a c6/7 quad complete from an accident 36 years ago. DMT has affected me as you describe. My body reacts to it. It is a total distraction from the experience. Scary as fuck. I had the same experience with shooms years ago. DMT would be therapeutic to me. I have PTSD. I would like to find an alternative that my body won't react to. Peace.

If magic Mushrooms make you shake/physically uncomfortable, then I am *certain* that DMT would as well. The 'magic' in magic mushrooms is basically DMT with an extra pair of oxygen and hydrogen atoms stuck to it in a particular way.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

If psychedelics aren't your thing, there are many different kinds of meditation and contemplative practices you could do.

This is not something I would normally recommend, but given your condition, have you ever considered trying ketamine? It is used as an anesthetic specifically because of how it disconnects you from your body and inhibits movement. Dissociatives may not have the incredible safety record of psychedelics, but ketamine is accepted by many to be just as powerful and moving as many psychedelics, and to have potent antidepressant effects. It is possible to abuse it, but as long as you treat it with the respect that you would a psychedelic and use it infrequently, it shouldn't provide and significant danger. In any case, it's a much better option than datura, as the OP suggested. If there's any powerful hallucinogen that you're going to be able to take without shaking, my bet is on ketamine.
