Hello,
I HAVE done some searching, but I apologize if I missed something. I bought some PH Down (General Hydroponics) because I was thinking of adding sodium to the basified mixture in addition to using phosphoric acid to help push the DMT alkaloids out of solution into my non-polar solvent. (I understand the basic idea of using ionic forces to aid yields, but I'm not sure if I said that last sentence correctly.)
Here:
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...&m=222014#post2220141.5ml phosphoric acid is added to 3600ml of water for a pH of 4.0. I believe pH down is 85% phosphoric acid.
Is this all that's needed? I don't have much experience with this area, so I wanted to double check because it seemed like a very small amount. (I don't have any ph papers. I don't like using them if I can help it.)
Second question:
I'm thinking of trying a room-temp acid jar for a couple of days and comparing it to a acidic heated jar done along the lines of most A/B teks.
At this stage, when you're cooking plant matter (MHRB) in an acidic water solution, do I need to be concerned about evaporating off DMT or will it not boil off in this form? It would be nice to leave the top of the crock pot off, for instance, while cooking the acidic solution in order to bring down water volume. Is this okay to do?
Thank you.
