300g MHRB was pulled 3 to 4 times with heptane Freeze precip. and evaporation yielded around 5g of spice.
A Xylene pull was performed.
~ 750ml Acetone was made annhydrous by addition of cooked MgS04 and agitated several times and let sink to the bottom. Approximately 10 grams of fumaric acid powder was added to this acetone.
Then, ~100ml acetone was drawn off the top of the jar, to which another 3-4g of fumaric acid was added to make sure it was saturated (first time on FASA).

Approximately 30ml of FASA was added to the Xylene pull.

After about 12 hours, there is an orange ring around the bottom of the mason jar containing the Xylene. There is a thin orange-red film on the top of the solution. The uppermost part of the xylene is noticeably less opaque than the bottom 2/3.

Question: How long should FASA precipitation take at room temperatures ~ 75 F?

Will this separation get more delineated?

My friend is concerned about trying to do put this entire solution through a sep funnel and the funnel getting clogged with dmt fumarate precipation and excess fumaric acid.

Okay! Now at approximately 24 hours later, the Xylene is mostly clear/yellow (as it was before) and there are a few crystals which are apparent when the jar is swirled.

More FASA will be added to this xylene and see if more DMT fumarate crystals form.

Also: do the crystals formed from Jungle Fumarate differ in appearance than those of DMT fumarate?

Check my signature for more info on jungle fumarates. The alkaloid profile is nearly the same, except that if there is residual water and it forms a yellower/orange layer, it usually has trace amount of some other alkaloids, but if I'd guess,. I'd say not much difference in terms of effects...

In any case, yeah I'd add more FASA and wait another day or so, see if anything else crashes out. Pour it all through filter in case there are floating crystals, and scrape whatever is there after you pour off and let it finish drying over the filter or on a glass dish.

If there is a goo-like part on the bottom, you can use a bit of water to pick it up and dissolve it, and then let it evaporate on a glass dish (which you can put on water bath, on top of a pot with boiling water to help evaporating faster)
