Hello, I'm new to this wonderful forum.  I plan on brewing acacia confusa and syrian rue for the first time.  I've looked all over online to make sure i know what I'm doing.  There are just two things I would like specified:
1. How long should it be brewed in order for it to be fully potent?  I've read contradictory information. Some might say an hour, some might say 18, etc.  I just want to be positive that I'm getting the most out of it.
2. Do i need to do multiple washes or can i simply do one wash for the specified amount of time.  Once again different people have different answers.  For example, one said 3 washes 45 minutes each.  Another said it takes 6 to 8 hours but instead of multiple washes, they just added more water and vitamin c when needed.  
I just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of the brew and that it actually works at all.  Thanks very much.
