I'm just wondering how commercial this hobby actually is. I also can't get my head around the varying opinions on ethics, and righteous attitudes about the best way to do things. I hope this poll will reveal some important information. Please contribute

I would grow all of my own, and I do almost feel bad everytime I order. But its convienience.

Maybe once I move out of a colder climate.

I'm preparing my gardens as we speak in hopes of growing many species of entheogenically rich plants. I'm sure online resources will be essential for a few years, but I'm rather excited about growing my own psychedelic plants and truly connecting with nature as has been done for many years.

Anyone here have reliable links to growers? SOCAL pref.

Thanks!

When my friend is in a situation where it's convenient to grow, he will grow.
Until then he'll continue ordering.
He doesn't "feel bad" when he orders either.

It is not a possibility for SWIM to grow his own... so he must purchase online... for the time being.

No bad feelings here, either. It will certainly be more rewarding if [once] he grows his own, however.

I've somehow 'grown' a degree of suspicion when it comes to these kind of polls.

Yeah, what's the deal with this poll?

People can grow some type of spice producing plant no matter where they live, however it is highly impracticle unless they live in tropical/subtropical area. Mimosa is the leading plant of choice for extractions and that has a rather limted grow zone. Can't grow it in Maine I can tell you that.

I am certifiably insane, as such all posts written by me should be regarded as utter nonsense or attempts to get attention.

I don't know SWIM and personally don't trust him at all. If SWIM is posting, most likely I will not respond...as I said, I don't trust the guy. YOU I trust, but never SWIM.

Theres plenty of botanicals you can grow ANYWHERE in the world!

Even if you grow just one plant, I think it's important to preserve these botanicals!

As well as cultivation, I think it's important to make sure the vendors you order from sustainability harvest and practice fair trade... for all y'all know ya could be raping some jungle village of it's people and it's heritage or perhaps your contributing to a species decline in a certain area (probably not, but I'm just saying be careful)!

I think they're trying to figure out if they can stop the spice by banning the plants.

Ahaha... FUCK NO THEY CAN'T!

Ya really think they will ban 10,000 various botanicals? That's silly.

So don't even worry about it Smile

There's no need to get suspicious.
I really wanted to know why there were so many jerkoffs preaching sustainability and 'grow your own' when it seems like a bit of a pipe dream. A hypocritical one.

Just looking at better and better, and more congruent solutions..

In any church there is blind dogma and unchallenged views. DMT is NOW, not so dissimilar.
In unregulated industries, you've got no idea if a vendor is doing the sustainable thing or not. They can say whatever they like, and they do.
'Preserve botanicals' wtf is this?
How about, 'preserve the environment'? Understanding nature as a consumable.. as a 'botanical'.. as means to some end, lifestyle choice, or fashion is a bit off skew. Growing a few trees in our backyards while we maintain a system of destruction is very incongruent to say the least.

Anyway, thanks to those who voted.

primary soruce is 5-MeO-DMT from the Bufo Alvarius whose habitat psychedeliack is also native to, psychedeliack also grows and pulls from Phalaris Tuberosa.

considering and will eventually purchase mimosa root bark, and is going to purchase a live viridis plant.

Psychedeliack only uses DMT at most, once a month on average, so growing the plants and milking the toads is ideal. Its not due to dogma or anything we heard, simply makes more sense, saves money, and entheogens always make my garden a brighter place, for both humans and plants.

Its just hard to pay anything for it or convince anyone else around here to, considering the massive abundance of Alvarius out here in the summer. (unless you prefer nn) Also, even though phalaris wont usually pull more than the root bark or chacruna, its VERY easy to cultivate.
Still cant wait to pull from the amazonian plants.
If we lived in a place where this was not possible, the route would most likely be bought root bark and chacruna leaf, although I would still try to grow the chacruna and phalaris out of a love for the situation.

I do grow p. viridis plants but I don't feel the need to bioassy them once they reach maturity. Maybe sometime along the way they'll be added to a brew, but as fresh as they come, the caretaking of entheogens is more important than what they have to offer. It's a generally cold climate up here so light source and heat is somewhat an issue in ambiance but they just look so cool chillin in the corner growing hardy than ever
I also care for bufo alvarius, Hypno Toad. Smile

If one generally committed individual is cultivating mass quantities of source materials, much applause because I value these plants on a level of aliveness and awareness. This industry is profitable and much like any other business passion is involved in some way or another.
