I have been experimenting with various teks.

At this point my personal preference is for the absolutely purest product,
without sacrificing yields.

I have been able to achieve and excellent quality product using "shaggy's tek",
the vinegar-lime-d Limonene approach, and the classic
AB vinegar extractions followed by reduction and basification.

Product obtained using naptha has been recrystallized using heptane, producted obtained
from d-limonene FASI did not require it.

However, in every case the final yield of white crystalline product was
disappointing. Maybe on the order of 0.3%.

I realize that the oily, gunky, orange or yellow residue left after recrystallization
is psychoactive. I have no judgements regarding those who want to consume it.

I just don't.

I guess I'm kind of a purity freak.

So anyway here's my question: anyone have suggestions on how to maximize the yield of the pure product?

Thanks, and thank you all for your continued efforts in creating a storehouse of experience
and knowledge of this sacred molecule.

With re-x following any A/B, 1% yield of "pure" white DMT should be attainable, assuming the starting material is of good quality. 2%+ overall yield is reasonable and it's worth noting that dark red product is ~95% DMT.

the ideal tek for me is comprised of maximum efficiency of extraction materials, purity, and of course yeild.

for me, that is a standard acid base, but evaporate your acid pulls to a resin. then you mix that with caoh and water to get a paste. dry it and pull with bestine in a hot water bath. freeze-x, and you'll get pure white freebase ready to be dissolved in acetone, and fasa'd to get fumarates.

then you pull the rest of the alkaloids with dry acetone, from your dried resin paste. fasa that, and your done.

alternatively, you could just use acetone, if you want fullspectrum and don't care if its pure white n,n, dmt instead of bestine, and fasa that.

I've gotten 2%+ yeilds from potent bark that way, and it uses very little solvents/bases, and overall is a very easy/simple process.

that's a cadillac tek imho.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...

Wow, thanks I like that approach.
When you say evaporate to a resin,
do you use heat to get all the way to resin or do you use some
other method? If you use heat how do you avoid burning the product
when nearly all the liquid is gone?

Is this tek written up anywhere?

I just use heat to get it down to ~250ml or less, syrupy consistency basically, then dry it in a pyrex dish with a small fan, and either a hot plate on low (under 100f), or an oven set to 150f or less cracked open, and a fan circulating the air.

A hot dry day also works, you can just evap the last bit outside. Its easy to burn it up though, if you try and evap the last bit on a stovetop. Watch it constantly if you do try it that way. I've burned cactus resin, and mhrb resin from forgetting about a dish on the stove evaporating, it only takes a few minutes to go from being the perfect time to take it off, to charred.

IDK if the tek is written up anywhere, its just how i decided to go about my extractions after trying numerous different teks, and deciding this was the easiest method by far imho.

If theres a need for a tek, and no one can provide a link to one that is already written up, i'll take a crack at writing something up in my spare time. But i don't want to take credit for someone elses process, that i have just internalized/memorized, and can recall from memory in my own words.

Thanks. Makes sense.

What I like about this approach is that by extracting from a dried resin you avoid all the problems associated with emulsions, and the differential concentration of DMT between the resin and the extraction solvent is so high high that you should end up with a more complete extraction ie better yield.

I think you would be doing the nexus community a service if you wrote it up. I have been getting good product from my extractions for a while but have struggled with yields. I finally figured out that I was being too gentle and impatient in my solvent extraction step out of fear of emulsions. The resin method would have avoided that problem altogether. There is nothing wrong with writing up a tek that consists of a formal detailed description of processes discovered by others as long as you credit them. For example on DMT wiki under the DMT teks look at Q21Q21's Vinegar/Lime A/B extraction tek. At the beginning of the tek he or she says:

This tek was inspired by:
Blueskine whose idea for freebasing acetates with heat changed my life!
Noman whose tek on erowid inspired my first extraction
69ron and his mescaline tek that taught me the power of lime
amor_fati whose tek inspired me to try a vinegar step and made the tek over 10x faster
SyZyGyPSy was the first person to report using limonene to extract spice
Chronic who's method of drying of the mush to a crumbly powder solved the lost-solvent issue
Anyone whose post was read and forgot who posted it, you all helped.

But either way thanks. Even if you didn't discover it I learned about it from you.

Be well
