The first time I ever astrally projected I had sleep paralysis for about half an hour first and kept trying to roll over and get up because I heard something scratching on my bedroom door. Eventually, I rolled over walked a couple of steps and couldn't move, at which point I realized I was out of my body because I had read in multiple places that the hardest part is getting away from your body.
I grabbed the edge of my bed and kept trying to go forward, but couldn't; after maybe 15 seconds I suddenly snapped back into my body and was able to move.
One of the greatest things about cultivating a service oriented mindset is that you start to see the problems of the world as an opportunity to serve. The worst of disasters becomes an opportunity to help people. Life is much less daunting when you see even the negative as a blessing in disguise.
