The kick led me through a brilliant, luminescent tunnel into what seemed to be infinite space. I was immediately aware of the fact that I was no longer in my body, and though I had conceived of that intellectually, the tangible reality of it was uniquely terrifying, and all the scripts I had previously been repeating to myself about how I wouldn't feel fear vanished in the face of the truth.
As soon as I was through the tunnel, I sensed an entity hurtling toward me at an astronomical speed. It took the shape of a comic book character from my early youth - an intergalactic herald for an alien that consumed worlds, then ultimately turns on its hungry hippo master to save mankind.
As soon as I perceived it I realized that it had only taken this form so it would appear to me in a fashion that I could fit into my perceptual models, and one that would command my utmost attention. It was not it's true form, if it even had such a thing as a true form. It was certainly mercurial, in every sense of the word.
It looked not at me, but through me, with impossibly wise, impossibly knowing eyes. I suppose impossibly isn't the right word, but wise and knowing beyond my prior conception of what was possible. It was looking into me, and every thing I'd ever done, said, or thought of doing was laid utterly bare before this creature, with absolutely zero hope of what I thought of as "me" retaining a single secret.
Once it had waited for me to realize just how clearly it saw my life, it spoke, but not to my ears. It emanated vibrations that met all of my senses and came through them at once.
It said: "Your arrogance is unparalleled....human beings."
"Did you really think you were going to come here and receive all the secrets of the universe? Did you think that would all fit into your monkey brain?"
And then it, and seemingly the entire cosmos with it laughed. Not a malevolent, menacing laugh, but the way we laugh warmly when children attempt something absurd and comically fail.
"I'm not going to give you what you want, and you wouldn't comprehend it anyway. But I will give you what you need."
"Boundaries are necessary to interface with matter. Consciousness must occupy matter so as to be in and among it. Mind must have an anchor as a base from which to perceive and experience tactile reality. However this does not mean that consciousness is local. The opposite is true. It merely seems that consciousness is local per a convenient illusion of the mode of reality you currently occupy. It's part of the game you're playing, playing USandTHEM"
"Boundary dissolving states are necessary to regulate consciousness and retain a balance between the groundedness of tactile reality and the actual expanse of mind, just as grounding rituals are necessary to root consciousness and center it in the body vehicle. As a human being, you require both."
"The voice you hear that speaks to you of judgment of yourself and others is not you. You do not have to feed the demon of judgment or the demon of fear with your attention and energy and spirit. You are no voices, you are the observer perceiving the voices. You are the observer. You are. You are the observer of voices, and confusing these voices with yourself is the root of all your suffering."
"You are surrounded by those who love you. You must stop rejecting their love, and inhibiting the expression of your own. Love is the most powerful force in all of existence."
"Fly."
......and then I came sinking back/down/backwards into my body. I was left feeling peeled open to my core, and with the distinct, clear fact, that what I had just experienced was a sliver of the peak of the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

When you practice meditation you learn that you are not the source of most of your thoughts. It's like the mind is a deep ocean and thoughts bubble up to conscious awareness of their own accord. Most of the time, you don't think your thoughts, you hear them.

The voice of the teacher who tells the student he his stupid, the mother who tells her daughter she is ugly or the father who tells his son he is weak.

I appreciate the kind words from everyone. As for the question: Aftermath wrote:Excellent post, Zeke. Thanks for sharing.
But I wonder where these judging "voices" come from then? Cultural conditioning? With consideration from a variety of states of consciousness, I've identified some of my own "voices" as connected to mental formations established in childhood from specific painful experiences. I'd certainly say cultural conditioning is also a huge contributing factor, and although I've experienced prolonged periods of freedom from my own personal cultural programming, it is deeply rooted, and returns when stimulated by a variety of triggers. I think cultural conditioning should be examined critically, and as objectively as possible, but there's obviously value in some of the tools our cultures equip us with, and some should certainly be retained. Predominantly, I've noticed that I experience what I would call "unconscious" moments, where I'm playing out a habitual script in my head, typically tied in some way to fear in its various manifestations. It's a sort of a trance like state, and the first time I truly noticed what was going on, it came as a tremendous shock how much of my life I had been living on zombie autopilot.

That is awesome message , such great words , I'm gonna read that again , wow. I'm under the impression that I lost or muddled a significant portion of what I perceived, due in some part to the shock of the plunge, and also probably connected to the slippery nature of these experiences. What I included in the post above was what I was able to scribble down and extrapolate in the immediate wake of the encounter. It's important to keep in mind that the messages I was receiving weren't in the form of words, but were energetic vibrations registering with all of my senses. Even that description feels clumsy and not wholly accurate, but it's the best I can capture with the written word for the time being.

That's a great report. I wish that the entities that I encounter would tend to be as straightforward with me as that. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead
"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb
