Namaste, I figured I would start a thread to see what I cannot find out about the various music festivals gatherings and whatnots happening in the various regions of the world. If you have or know of an upcoming gathering or festival please let me know here! I am looking for a Festival to hit on the West Coast between August 20 and September 20 but figure this thread may help others find some summer gatherings as well! Cheers. "Drop Out--detach yourself from the external social drama which is as dehydrated and ersatz as TV. Turn On--find a sacrament which returns you to the temple of God, your own body. Go out of your mind. Get high. Tune In--be reborn. Drop back in to express it. Start a new sequence of behavior that reflects your vision." -Timothy Leary

If you're of the raver mentality, there a lot of fun things happening in the DC/Baltimore area. There's an event in the next few days called Divine Moment of Truth: Return To The Source (DMT ). I also go to a lot of performance art things, so if you're at all interested in fire spinning or cirucs arts in general, you can try Wildfire, which is in CT, I believe. From what I hear, most of the festival goers will be busy collecting dust from Aug 26-Sept 2. Esp on the West. Good luck. "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." -A.Huxley

Good luck. I must say that though I am rather comfortable with speech, your choice of words leaves me bereft of understanding. If you mean they will be "shelved", "over-it", or "in between" then I got the meaning, if not then I am alas, not understanding. The Rainbow World Gathering is a possibility, but not a probability due to the fact figuring out how to deal with my wolfdogs on an international poses a problem. Generally speaking I am interested in music that is filled with light and love. I know there are some techno shows that gravitate towards positivity but an equal number that are simply pounding noise to me. A west coast location in general is the most appealing simply due to time constraints (I return to class Sept 22). Next year Rainbow Nationals is on our list, regardless of where it is. But for this summer, something on the West Coast, large or small, would suffice. Cheers. "Many of us who have experienced psychedelics feel very much that they are sacred tools. I believe a1pha was referring to the dust of Black Rock City Utah or Nevada for the July 1-7 2014 US National Gathering of the Rainbow Family of Living Light was the official consensus of Rainbow Vision Council in Montana.

Ahh Burning Man....now I feel silly for not getting as I grew up in Nevada. I really wish I could go. I do. Next year I will try, but I have wolfdogs and no one I trust to care for them for a week. Not to mention the fact they have never been separated from me for even a day. Main reason Rainbow is a must next year, generally animal friendly. Cheers. Summerset music festival in WI August 9-11. Music line-up isnt overly impressive but should be a great festival nontheless. Music is only half of a camping festival afterall.
