Hey everyone, I've been browsing and researching the forums and associated scene for three or four years now and just now decided to make an account on the eve of SWIMs first adventure with an A/B extraction which thus far is great except some small amounts of water contamination. Reading the thread about buying/selling spice gave me a profound and intriguing respect for this community and I hope one day I can help it along! (Neuroscience/Biochem major etc).

Substance history would be a few LSA trips, a wonderful 50x salvia trip (RIP), MJ, and that's all SWIM can think of right now. SWIM has a few cacti that SWIM is dreading even the thought of cutting them up, but they're San Pedro and SWIM has some Bolivian Torch sprouts underway. I've always been interested in DMT since at least my sophomore year in high school, but I knew that it wasn't the right time to be experimenting with it. With a little more age, preparation and so forth. SWIMs extraction last night went over well, crystals precipitated out but when I drained the naphtha and left the remainder evaporate the crystals disappeared and SWIM can't quite figure this out. It was left out in the sun, so maybe that's why? It's very perplexing to SWIM, but I haven't searched yet because SWIM's second pull is currently under way.

Hobbies include a lot of video games, I do research in addiction for a lab, and skateboarding on occasion, been dabbling in paint, and that's about all! I'm trying to learn banjo and mandolin, but my coordination lacks.

I also don't know the extent to which SWIM should be used or how safe speaking is, I'm not entirely paranoid but I do like to be legally sound.

did you have any remaining naphtha in the precip jar? if it warmed up, it would dissolve the alks, and appear to have disappeared. also the heat from the sun oculd have done this.

if the crystals precipd and stuck to the bottom of the vessel, you could turn the vessel on its side so the remaining naptha would fall away from the alks (now turned to where they are on the side)

3 mL was around after pouring off the tray, then those 3 mL of naphtha were poured back into the container used and that amount is being reused for another pour so yeah! The evaporation container is being switched as well from a plastic container to a glass baking tray.

Your crystal disappeared because you need to dry them fast. As the remaining solvent warms it's solubility goes up causing it to dissolve your crystals. You'll need to dry your second batch faster next time.



You'll find that most people here on the nexus are not fond of others using SWIM as it really doesn't protect you from anything. We all know it means Someone Who IS Me.

Is this why you're supposed to tip the dish on its side? Because it happened again within a matter of a few minutes, and then the remainder of the solvent was poured off and recycled so a whole lot isn't being lost (hopefully) but I just can't get it to precipitate and stick to the glassware.

This is how I do it.
I prepare my working surface grab all the equipment I need, then take one jar out of the freezer. I decant off all the solvent through a piece of filter paper, then place my jar back in the freezer for a few minutes to cool back down. Take it back out scrape out your spice and chop/break it up well on a piece of filter paper to release any solvent trapped within the crystals. Then leave the fresh spice out in the open air for about 1 hour before placing in you storage container.

That sounds wonderful. I'm going to try it like that first thing tomorrow morning or evening after work! Thanks!

Regarding the melting crystals do check out the FAQ, as there is one entry dealing specifically with this issue.

Did you consider taking oral DMT/ayahuasca too, or you're more interested in vaporized DMT? Talking about vaporization, what method are you planning on using? I highly recommend not smoking but rather vaporizing, through either something like the glass vapor genie or an improvised built one such as the inspirator mkII.
