I am coming to the conclusion that smoked dmt is just not for me.

Really I dont enjoy or even feel the effort is worth it, the vapor smells/tastes awful, the come up isnt pleasant,it doesn't last long enough or I cant wait for it to die down,I have a very fine line between breaking through and blacking out.
about the only time I like to smoke it is on the come down off a mushroom trip that ends too early.

all in all I am not impressed and I have vaped a few grams over the past few months, experimenting with lower doses, higher doses and different ways of vaping.

I plan on ordering some harmala hcl and trying a few oral sessions soon, but if its anything like vaped just a lot longer Im not to shure I want to subject myself to that.

I know some people don't smoke it for various reasons but I cant find another report similar to mine.
I feel like im missing a lot and if I'm breaking through, I cant remember anything..

do you enjoy smoking dmt yes/no? why?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hi fry,

I feel I shouldn't be the one answering first, since my approach is so unorthodox to the rest of this DMT Nation.

I am not looking for any brake through at all. I am observing how my everyday life is changing and how the burdens of my shoulders are being lightened.

I do only oral pharmahuasca in high doses. It has been total hell for hours, I can't even express the...

But after it, I meditate, I integrate it in my life and "miracles" happen.

Yet this is ME, and my man, his work is totally different, with the same quantities, it is so different that it sound like another plant.

I think in my case it has to do the job this way.

I want to try a lower pharma dose around 50-80mg, normally Im nothing short of excited to trip but I have had some extremely odd sub-breakthroughs though like for instance one time everything was changing every time I blinked, an hour or more of that I might have lost it completely.

I might just vacuum seal what I have left and put it up until maybe one day I want to revisit this substance..

One finds DMT very enjoyable to smoke. Smile One enjoys the headspace and visual phenomena very much.

I dont like having a breakthrough every single time, but hitting that level right before it is pure bliss. Breakthroughs are pretty mentally taxing IMO and only for so often. SWIM likes to store spice in salt form since it has a high shelf life, and then whenever needed convert a small amount to freebase for smoking.

Hi fry,

If you don't enjoy it or can't seem to find that happy medium for dose level, there's no reason not to shelve it and maybe come back to it later.

Like you, I'm new to DMT, and I also had an experience when I tried to force a breakthrough that I don't remember anything of until 6 minutes in when I came back. However, I really do enjoy the sub-breakthroughs so I have no problem working on my letting go and waiting for it to happen organically.

Maybe practice meditation to get yourself in the right head space? If you have access to a float tank, that is a perfect place to practice letting go; it provides such a supported shavasana, and melting into it provides a most disassociative, weightless experience that helps to reveal just how much more you can let go.

Good luck!

Right, if it is painful or not enjoyable. Don't do it. Simple stuff. :]

Enjoy smoking? not so much.
I get messages from DMT.
When I smoke, the message is "don't do this".

Hmmmmm this is where the New Age, and Face Book msgs come into trouble.

Inner work is hell

Of course we must be ready to handle it in some way, as much as possible, through being exposed to the big 3: Zen (yoga, m.arts*), psychoanalysis, plants. But its never easy, at all, neither of the big 3.

People have idealized concept of Buddhist retreats: in reality it is a solitary confinement, and total hell, but we still do it.

I 'enjoy' smoking DMT. Don't get me wrong, it scares the crap out of me as well, because I know what a powerful and eye opening substance it can be. It is not something I 'just do' - it takes mental and physical preparation, and I had to learn what worked for me the hard way. It's not the same as, say, the way I enjoy smoking weed, where I can just casually puff away when ever I want and be confident that I will feel nice and stoned. DMT is work. I enjoy it because it cleans me out mentally, physically and spiritually, it shows me things I would never otherwise experience, it pushes me beyond my comfort zone. Tis is great, but far from easy.

Personally I feel that pure freebase DMT is to fast and disorienting for me to really get much out of. It NEEDS harmalas - I vaporise a bunch before the Spice, I often mix a bit in with the spice as well. I make sure I can feel them doing their thing before smoking the tryptamine content. This is where the money is imo, the journeys are longer, deeper, less jarring, and have helped me learn and grow in a number of ways. Even so, it can still be extremely powerful and be hard work to integrate, but that is the name of the game.

If you're doing serious work on the self, DMT will often be anything but fun or enjoyable. I don't see any reason to expect it to be so when your focus is by necessity trained on the facets of yourself that you wish to change. This should be difficult; It is by overcoming the challenges before us that we turn obstacles into opportunities. Grace and cunning have their place, but sometimes you just have to stick your shoulder to the wheel.

If you've got real work to do, whether or not you enjoy the methods you've adopted to do this work is irrelevant, not to mention an immature preoccupation. Self-work is hell. Why should you expect any aspect of it to be otherwise? What is most beneficial to you may well be what hurts most... and when doing shadow work, it will be. Period.

dmt doesn't scare me per say, I dont even get preflight anxiety any more, its more like it bores me and I feel like im forcing myself to do something I dont really want to almost as if theres an unknown peer pressure (probably more like I feel that if I dont do it im wasting time and money)

I like the idea behind smoking harmalas to be able to ease in to it and stay longer, my biggest complaint is shortness of the trip, almost doesn't seem worth it to smoke it when 75% of the time your coming down.

I absolutely love smoking dmt!

Is it an easy journey? No way it isn't and I agree that it isn't for everyone. I think everyone owes it to themselves to smoke it at one point or another in their life IMO.
If you decide to go forward with your journeys I highly recommend going in with a different mindset. Refine your delivery method by using a mg scale and using a glass vapor genie...work on finding your general sweet spot, I say general because even with the same dosage you can have different effects based on set, setting, and your true intentions. Focus on your intentions, that is your platform.
I find that when I push too hard for a breakthrough I'm denied access and can't for the life of me get there...so I take a break and focus my energy on my intentions. Continue on with life and when I get the calling I go for it. I'm finding the more energy and work I put into my daily life the easier to have more fulfilling experiences when smoking dmt.
The lessons learned do transcend into your everyday life if you let it...the hardest yet one of the most important things to remember is to not expect anything but accept everything. Having expectations sets you up for disappointment when they aren't met everytime. Its just so damn hard at first to open yourself up and can be downright traumatizing or disappointing if not approached with the respect needed for this type of work.
Good luck with your journeys if you decide to forgo!

I certainly enjoy it. It is often euphoric, pleasant, beautiful, tantalizing, majestic, etc...of course it's not always these things, but I get enough positives from the experience to warrant going back. There's so much I love about hyperspace, it's just too much to get into in a post Love

YES.

As others said, it's work. Going so far, assimilating, then going from there, further and further, deeper and deeper, realizing there's no end to this beautiful madness. Sometimes terrifyingly beautiful. For some I can definitely see how the experience would be 'off putting' due to that heavy coursing feeling that slices through and through until you are completely obliterated to the point of realizing there was never a you to begin with. Could totally be disphoric for some people, I could see that. AS said above....tis not for everyone.

But for me, it's all part of the package. I love EVERY single fragment of the experience, from the hells to the heavens to the darkness to the light, from the pain to the never ending bliss. It's all just too damn beautiful and special beyond comprehension.

I would say try once with Harmala's before calling it quits, it's quite a different experience imo, and I far prefer it. Almost to the point where I rarely ever smoke DMT without harmala's.
Having said that, psychedelics are not for everyone, and some are freaked out or disinterested in the realms it takes them, or simply find it doesn't work in the same way as others.
If the taste is terrible, I suspect you are burning rather than Vaping.
Vaped DMT has a mild taste, but not unpleasant.
Burnt DMT tastes like trash though.
Is there a specific aspect that you dislike?
You don`t feel any mental clarity or divine presence?
