Title says it all.
SWIM has a baggy pinned to a wall, and there is yellow residue precipitated at the bottom. Is this dirty spice? It was already basified. Or is it perhaps useless precipitated salts formed from NaOH and citric acid?

keeping spice in plastic bag is not recommended, that's your problem, keep it in the freezer in like a little glass jar or something. My advice would be throw it in some naphtha and freeze it for 2-3 days to precipitate crystals and clean up your spice a bit.

You arent very clear. What does a baggie with yellow spice in it have to do with its water solubility?

Is the spice dissolved in water and there is yellow oil at the bottom? Are you wondering whether to re-precipitate it from water and its curently dry in a baggie? Could possibly help with more info.

You have a bag of extracted DMT crystals and now the lower part is turning yellow?
I'm sorry the way it's worded is confusing.

Sounds to me like someone didn't let his stuff dry well enough before he put it in the bag.

But no, I'm pretty sure DMT won't crash out of the aqueous solution, it should if done properly stay suspended it in.
You aren't putting that in the freezer are you?

Sorry for being un clear. what I mean to say is that as sykosis said, i think you didn't dry it enough/ it was exposed to to much heat and light. The active DMT in it is still good to re-precipitate, which I recommend, in case the baggie/yellow stuff contains harmful stuff you don't want to inhale. Once you got it re precipitated I would store it in a freezer and not in a plastic baggie, this will ensure your DMT doesn't degrade again. Hope that clears it up?
