We just got some cappi vine and chacruna leaves. So we might be brewing some aya in a couple months or so. This will be my second experience with the tea. And the first time was a syrian rue/mimosa tea experience. It was such a light dose I could barley feel it.

So I am asking for advice here! I am always very scared of DMT, not just preflight anxiety, but out of respect. I treat this sacred molecule as sacred as I can manage too Drool

So how do you prepare for an aya purge? And I know that I will have a purge on this cappi/chacruna mix. Because I always feel like I purge on psychedelics. I accept this, and I view the purge as a very beautiful thing. But I just don't know how to go about it. If I am pooping my pants and throwing up every where. I want to be ready for this so I dont have a nasty surprise in the morning!

Or is it the kind of thing you just let happen? Anywhere and everywhere?

Anyways I will greatly appreciate any advice from you guys regarding a relatively first time aya experience.

Much love, and much peace!

Walter

Have a puke bucket, and a bathroom nearby.. dont lay down belly up if you feel like you're about to vomit.

and just accept it, take it in as a reminder of own's own mortality and weakness,a humbling experience, and become stronger from it.

At least thats how I do it

Although I have dronk ayahuasca for over 4 years, and a period pretty frequent (about 1x or 2x a week) I have never brewed it myself, because up to now I've been drinking my aya in the Santo Daime context.

My experience with the mix they prepare is that I just dont have that much purging on a physical level as some have, but maybe i have a strategy that works good....

Next to that, the precise mix of plants seems to have a lot of impact on the purging aspect. So maybe I have been just lucky untill now Smile I'm planning on brewing some aya myself with Caapi and Chaliponga, so maybe that will work out in a total unexpected new way.

Anyway, you ask how to prepare for a purge. The first time I had to vomit was like the 6th time I drunk aya. I had been afraid a lot of vomiting before, so I was pretty optimistic that that seemed not very necessary for me. Curiously enough, when i drink the aya, it always feels pretty heavy on the stomach. After like 15 minutes, or 30 maybe, that just fades. Maybe some fermenting *burp* might come out, but after that it feels pretty good. The throwing up / nausea seems to start later on, when the trip is fully unfolding, and is, with me, always connected to inner experiences. That first time I'm talking about, a light hit me and i felt i wasnt able to conduct this much light; it just bumped on my stomach and the unblocking of this area made me vomit. The entities that were with me, explained that I had some nasty entity hiding inside me, and the only way to clean this was through vomiting. They gave me the following instruction: 'we can heal you, but we only can do that if you are consciously with us. You have to let these contents emerge in your conscious and don't block them. So, the light came, i made this vomiting reflex, and at the same moment these images came up from some traumatic childhood experiences. I knew I wasnt there anymore, but the moment seemed frozen in time and it was pretty intense work to let this emerge in my consciousness. Classic repressed unconscious material Smile

At later moments, I always communicated with the entities present about what to do. Sometimes they advised: 'no no, don't vomit, just hold the feeling'. Sometimes they said: 'it would be the most easy way out if you vomited, but if you dont want, you dont have to, we can purge it the other way out, through your intestines, as well'. So I opted for the latter, but I regretted that afterwards, as it seemed to have taken me months to process these internal psychological contents through the intestines. The purging, in my experience, has always a psychological background, something that has to be released from the body. The vomiting is more a symbol of that. Of course it might be different for some people with really physical things (you know, like intestinal worms or what have you) that have to be purged, or with different brews. But for me, the entities always were a good guide on how to row the boat when nausea hit me.

So, wishing you the best with your first aya ! In the end, no one knows how to prepare, because it is always different. An open mind and heart seems the best recipe, along with some Light-beings as inner guide...

Dont fight the purge or the experience. If it happens, it happens, and it is the right thing for that moment. Trust the medicine and your body, they know exactly what to do!

Having a bowl or a small bucket near by, lined with a plastic bag is always a good idea. Lining your bowl makes clean up very easy!

Also, hydrate the day before and avoid eating or drinking too much water before your ceremony. That way, if/when you purge, it will only be the extra medicine your body doesnt need and nothing more. There wont be loads and loads of vomiting or poop! For me, poop happens the next day rather than during the ceremony.

After the purge, drink water as you feel you need! Once the extra medicine is out, I usually do not throw up again.

As for any pre-ceremony tripidation, here is a wonderful serving hymn for you that Cheiron will surely know,

Eu tomo Daime eu tomo Daime
Não tenho medo de tomar
Eu estando com meu Mestre
Nele eu posso me firmar

Eu tomo Daime eu tomo Daime
Tomo para viajar
Ouvir muito e falar pouco
Pra conhecer meus caboclos

Eu tomo Daime eu tomo Daime
Porque acho bom tomar
Não existe nada difícil
Se com o Mestre se firmar

Eu aqui vou viajando
Por aqui tenho que seguir
Estou convidando sorrindo
E comigo ninguém quer ir

I Take Daime, I take Daime
I‘m not afraid of taking it
I am with my Master
In Him I can firm myself

I Take Daime, I take Daime
I take it to travel
Listen a lot and Speak little
To know my caboclos [a spirit of the daime/ayahuasca]

I Take Daime, I take Daime
Because I think it‘s good to take
There isn‘t anything difficult
If we firm ourselves with our Master

Through this way I go traveling
Through here I must follow
I am entering smiling
And with me no one wants to go

I dont mean to get preachy but I used to get nervous before taking ayahuasca and this provided me with some comfort, that there is nothing really to fear.
