Swim is doing their first brew, and they are using 1kg of caapi, and 1kg of P.Vidiris. Volume wise, roughly how much of a yield should they expect? Cold soak, 3x3 washes. Such a sweet smelling brew Smile

Traditional serving estimates 100g vine to 100g chacruna a strong visionary dose, 50g vine to 50g chacruna is a med-light dose. This is where they usually start people new to them or Ayahuasca. I would drink 1-1.5 cups of the visionary dose but have drank more than 2 cups a few times. This is over the coarse of the ceremony not all at once. I can tell within 90 min if I wish to drink more than the first cup. Depending on how I feel that evening and how its coming on. I can usually tell when to push it and when to just stay with 1 cup.

So that being said you have between 10-20 doses I would say.

Why are you doing cold extraction? Cold works but the only places I have seen cold water brews is in Colombia and they have unlimited supplies of plant materials. Its not very efficient a method. I would say its going to be much, much weaker than simmered brewing. So I have no clue how many doses you would have there. Not many Id say.

IMO, use heat. simmer your washes mate and save yourself a fist full of misfires.
I am not gonna lie, shits gonna get weird!

My apologies. The cold soak was just the b.caapi over night before the 3 boils, and then the reduction. It ended up being concentrated down to 3.5 liters from almost 80 liters of water used. Total of 25 hrs..(not including the cold soak). Worried that it might have been boiled down, too hot for too long..(?) It hasn't been tried yet, but I'm thinking the first dose will be 1/2 cup, get the maoi's working and the first purge over with, and then another 1 cup after that.

It's funny that you mention Colombia. My first experience with aya was in Macoa. Definitely didn't turn out as thick as the brews I was given while doing ceremonies with a shaman there. Her's were very very thick like a syrup and gritty.. Almost makes me feel like something was done wrong with this brew, considering its fairly watery with very little sediment.

Thanks for the info and advice. Greatly appreciated Smile
