hi just thought i would start this thread to see if any one else feels the same or had a similar experience from smoking DMT.
So im 20 and sometimes i get bad anxiety not often but when i do it is bad, and i have found that if i smoke a small amount of DMT it completely gets rid of my anxiety altogether! its as if in my chest there is my heart and its a spikey and lumpy ball the spikes and lumpiness is the anxiety, when i smoke the DMT it melts my heart into a pool then slowly reforms but with out the lumps and bumps into a smooth ball. it is maaad luv the stuff

I've had similar experiences and i find low doses of changa are very therapeutic in general. Some people don't enjoy low doses but I think you just have to learn to work with it in your own way

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

yes you could say I really enjoy the low doses Very happy its always makes me feel strong and ready to take on the world, unlike a large dose which usually makes me chill right down. this is just my experience.

Thanks for the post. i have a close friend who deals with anxiety. i've often wondered if DMT would help her. If you did a larger dose, would or could it possibly bring on an anxiety attack? I think this is very important info.. Not sure if it's been posted yet or not.. Bless

Im new to DMT and today I got my hands on some and was extremely excited. I ended up smoking around 100mg and nothing really happened. I could tell it had some sort of effect because I felt really comfortable but I had no visions what so ever. I use take meds for scitzophrenia up until about three months ago,I also take methimazole for graves disease. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. I also sandwiched in between tabacco in a spoon pipe. I dont know if I did anything wrong or if I should wait more than 3 months until I try again. any help would be appreciated, thanks

^Vaporize, don't smoke. There's at least part of the problem. If you smoked 100mg and nothing happened, you definitely didn't smoke it right. The sandwich method is notoriously unpredictable and you are supposed to hit the bowl very slowly so that the DMT gets vaporized by the heat, not burned by the actual flame, which will kill a lot of the spice in your bowl.

Plenty of info here at the Nexus about proper vaporization tools and techniques.

Good luck.

I suffered from really bad anxiety for a decade.
My anxiety was so bad it landed me in the emergency room twice
ie: loss of breath, double vision, sweating, insomnia, panic.
Basically, feeling like I was going to die any second but lasting
hours or days without the contribution or aid of any drugs.

Regardless, I really wanted to try spice. I knew I was taking a chance
smoking "the most intense psychedelic" with a known mental malfunction.

Then one day I smoked 40-50mg in a couple of puffs after having
experimented with subs for a bit - and had the most awesome & terrifying trip.

That was half a year ago and I have not had any anxiety symptoms since I was squashed to pieces
somewhere out there in some dimensional plane in the Universe. My personal opinion is that spice
really is medicinal & therapeutic for anxiety & depression.

My shell broke and with it existential thought and anxiety. I realized for the first time, possibly,
that the core issue was how I thought. My inner dialogue. The spice never said to me, you are negative,
you think bad things, it occurred in the exponential vastness of the experience and mostly
certainly that carrier wave that just completely disassembled and crushed everything that I was and knew
(as well as being louder than any extreme metal band).

But, when they recreated the Earth for me they asked if I wanted to go back - they told me I was
lucky to be here and that I chose to be here. Which when I got back seemed empowering. Something
I would never have thought to be true, but when you hear come from someone else, out there. S^$&!
Like they say, "THE ULTIMATE CONVINCER".

There is not one specific thing that happened but the culmination of the experience seemed to shift my
consciousness completely. I am still the old me cleansed of mental baggage, I can't even really
remember what that baggage was - as coming out of the breakthrough and integrating the experience
put me on the same track but a better path along the track. I was focused on now, on change.
Really, only a couple of days after my breakthrough my life went through a smooth and completely
life altering path (ie moved to a new city into a huge house with a couple of friends, got an awesome new
job and band tours and is doing very well). Everything just seemed to fit into place quickly and the cherry
on top is not having anxiety and being able to have and share the spice!!

Now, I would never say to someone with anxiety issues (they could be far and broad depending on the individual)
to take DMT for this issue but as long as they treated it with respect, to get to know the
molecule lovingly and over time (ie not smoking a breakthrough right off the bat) I wouldn't
advise against it either.

It was like McKenna said after a breakthrough one says to him or herself "I got it, I got it."

DMT has indeed helped me with my anxiety as well. I used to have violent, debilitating, terrifying panic attacks that also landed me in the hospital a few times. However, just smoking DMT will not "remove" the anxiety. I find that a lot of the good I get from DMT doesn't manifest itself for a long time after the journey sometimes. I'll notice subtle things about my psychology and I'll see that I'm basically making myself sick from the way I'm thinking, similar to what voyaj said.

Psychedelics are not the same thing as taking psychopharmaceuticals. The approach my doctors always took was "Panic attacks? Benzodiazepines. Depression? SSRI's. OCD? Tricyclics." No one ever really seemed to be interested in getting to the root of the problem, just treating the symptoms so I could lead a "functional life." I'll tell you right now, going through life on 2mg of Klonopin a day is not being functional in any way shape or form. But if I did manage to overcome these problems psychologically and didn't need the help of pharmaceuticals, my psychiatrist wouldn't be able to make his Lexus payments, now would he?

"Everything is (will be) OK."

That's the message I've got on my most recent experience.

And I love by that. Goodbye, anxiety. It was nice knowing you. NOT.

Nothing DMT can't heal with the proper mindset. It should do miracles with me when I get to try it for the first time...

Thanks for sharing

Yea, I always thought of the afterglow as feeling like a kid again. Anxious-less, light, energetic, flexible, open, aware. Just very present in my existence overall. I never did it, but used to think hitting it once each morning would be a great start to the day with that feeling and mindset.

Anxiety, along with my larger issue of depression, got crushed by psychedelics. But that was mescaline and LSD. DMT just put the finishing touches to it Smile
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

I searched here for DMT & Anxiety and found a few people saying that low doses were a little more uncomfortable than sub breakthrough/breakthrough doses.

I think it is the familiar confusing feeling that goes with the come up for psilocybin until a new level of 5ht2a transportation takes place that overwhelms and makes one feel euphoric.

I used to have slight anxiety , probably because I used to be constantly stoned.
Changa has rid all signs of anxiety and made me a more open and relatable person .

I have a question : Has the Harmala done anything for me? or is it just the DMT?

Many thanks Smile

Harmalas are very therapeutic for me on their own. DMT has also helped me with anxiety and some compulsive behaviour. It is important to reduce the anxiety as much as possible beforehand. A passiflora tea or pipe will do this.
Dont combine anti-psychotics with harmalas or SNRI ,SSRI or pharma MAOI.

I used DMT to confront my social anxiety. I would smoke it, on purpose, around my friends in order to deal with it. It was a lot of alternate dimensions and what could happen...for instance my friends freaking out and calling an ambulance. But then I came back and none of the sort had happened. It scared me to death. But I kept pressing forward and working through it. Finally, one day, I was able to smoke it around friends and properly feel the emotions of the room. No longer was I afraid of the vibes that they were putting off. The room became the alternate dimension...I was finally a part of the actual experience and able to have breakthroughs around my friends in peace.

I would suggest...for anyone with anxiety problems...to confront the anxiety and work through it with courage. You have lots of support on these forums, and plenty of people who care. But...I suppose if something "bad" is going to happen then something "good" can happen too.

We all have an idea of what a "bad" experience is. But at the end of the day...it's just an experience. Take an interest in it and learn. Be a part of your friend's lives and love them. Then you won't hesitate to see the truth...that people are on your side Smile

There have been plenty of studies and experiments done on the positive effects of microdosing.. If you feel this may be something beneficial to you, by all means I would encourage you to go to it. Take some time to read on it as well. There are plenty of articles and it doesn't hurt to become more familiar with the information available at hand.

My anxiety is always worse during the act of smoking & the comeup. Afterwards i feel like its completely removed & over the course of the next couple days it returns slowly.
