I strongly believe that animals are aware on a level that most human beings could not even imagine. That is why animals have a keen sense of instinct where as people do not and I think that is also why animals are able to survive in nature. Animals also make better company than most people IMO. -- Personally I feel like it is the duty of human beings to protect, preserve and respect all animal life to the utmost degree. People who regard animals as inanimate objects may have some underlying psychological issues that involve being unable to empathize or feel compassion...... I have no psychiatric basis for that, though. “Music is the voice of God traveling through ten-dimensional hyperspace.” ― Michio Kaku

This reccuring moralizing over the " Poor Toads in capivity" is quite frankly silly and getting long in the tooth. Why not take the topic over to a Terrarium and Reptile enthusiasts forum to get some real objective viewpoints on the subject?
moralizing apart , its the same for human beings , living in captivity or going to jail can have disturbing consequences for any being , human or toad illusions !, there are no illusions there is only that which is the truth

also in regards to captivity are you saying its wrong to have any pet this poor guy is recieving alot of hate and snobbery for having a pet toad of coarce animals have feelings but humans have had pets for thousands of years and truly it is stupid to say that is wrong... when harvesting DMT from a plant is just the same unless your saying that plants are not alive and have no feelings.
ive always felt that way about vegetarians like common u wont eat meat because its from a living animal but youl eat vegetables that are farmed and slaughtered in massive amounts how you think a carrot feels when an entire field of his family are slaughtered. are plants not living creatures?

Respectfully, your application of reasoning is nonsensical.. Eating is a manner of survival, licking toads isn't. I fail to see how denigrating the need to eat in order to appease some peoples need to trip (on specific compounds) in any ways justifies or rationalizes the use of a live animal, especially when the same compound can be harvested without an animal being held in captivity (and well outside of it's normal environment) while having it's defense mechanism activated at the whim of it's owner. Call me selfish, arrogant or whatever but that's also stated as me thinking about my own actions towards another form of life rather than the toads feelings.

@Cyb = Agreed. How about A list of psychoactive plants. A few listed that will give 5-meo and also increase any individuals knowledge base. All things set to one side I know I would rather increase my chemistry skills via learning a new extraction technique. Knowledge is power

so its cool to rip off the skin from a living plant but not ok to collect the sweat from a toad? just my opinion but common people have done this kind of thing for thousands of years if your not hurting the toad what is the big deal.
also you keep talking about the toads feelings are you saying that plants have no consciousness

that is all i wont say anymore but the person who started this thread did say he wants to use his toad so anyone with experience with toads should comment. people that have none should stop saying he is a horrible person for wanting to try the sapo
