My BF is a gamer, he came across this and showed it to me.
The Oculus Rift is a new Virtually reality headset for games.
Someone has created a game inspired by an LSD trip he had at burning man. Called Soundself.
The game is played by making sounds and chants to effect the virtual world, which
looks like a psychedelic experience.
It reminds me of a DMT experience, especially how you control the visuals of the game
by making sounds. since so many find this to be true with DMT.

The article

This LSD-Inspired Oculus Game is The Most Intense Thing I Saw at E3
I’ve seen things inside the Oculus Rift you people wouldn’t believe. And, for the most part, it involved the strange LSD-inspired indie game SoundSelf.

In the video above, SoundSelf’s designer Robin Arnott shows you the ins-and-outs of his LSD-trip inspired VR game, which he was showing off at the IndieCade booth at E3.

SoundSelf is not exactly a new project — the project met its Kickstarter goal last March. What has changed is the Oculus Rift integration, a feature that was not originally planned when the game started out.

Having played it in its Oculus form, it's hard to describe the intensity of the experience. Imagine being in a virtual tunnel 3D telescoping fractals that pulsate along with the sound of your own voice, which is then fed back to you as an ever-growing, Bodhisattva hum. It looks absolutely absurd when you see someone doing it, but when you’re inside that headset, it’s absolutely sublime. It's like the virtual reality dream of countless tech nerds, psychonauts and cyberpunks finally made manifest after so many years.

I went into E3 expecting to want an Xbox One or a PS4, but after playing SoundSelf what I really want more than anything is a Rift.

Very interested in seeing where this goes. Video games have a lot of untapped potential.

Amazing. I am stoked for the future of virtual reality games. This may open up a whole new section of video game types that will be like trips. Maybe even expanding the idea of using psychedelics to more people. I'm stoked!

Someone should come up with a fancy, high-tech looking headset that does nothing other than covering the eyes and delivering a micro-dose of dmt, then take it to one of these events. Wink

Nothing too special in reality. Two lcd screens fitted, and they alternate in frame rates so you can get a simulated perception of depth, that works better than any other 3D protocol. Put simply, two small monitors connected to your gfx card's output.

This is so unbelievably cool! I have had my eye on the rift (kickstarter) for some time now and I can't wait until the consumer version comes out. I'd get the dev kit, but the website says the consumer version will look better and will be cheaper, so I may as well wait. So excited! Imagine this game and other games (TF II, HL3 anyone?) while using this headset, and imagine gaming with it ON LSD.

Can't express my excitement enough!

Wait...is that what LSD looks like to most people, because my experience with psychedelics looks absolutely nothing like that.

It certainly doesn't fully capture the super intricate, infinitely complex, and awe-inspiring nature of the high dose entheogenic/psychedelic experience. It does have a bit of reminiscence of lower dose experiences imo, particularly with low-dose dmt and ayahuasca.

I have to admit I was a having a great time playing my didge at it; watching the visuals react and listening to the harmonic tones it created. I think it would be an awesome adjunct to a moderate dose psychedelic experience.

This always seems like a silly reaction to me. Care to explain exactly, in precise detail, what your psychedelic experience was like? Every experience is extremely personal, all are beyond anyone's ability to share with anything other than vague metaphors. I'd be astonished if anyone could ever create a piece of art that mimics real life experience. As the saying goes, it's the thought that counts. Don't be such a hater.

“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

I'd love to pair this technology with the VibraSound Wavetable or Zero Gravity Reclining Chair. They have incredible transducer technology that vibrates the whole body. The guy designed it as a sound healing device. Sounds kinda fruity hippy dippy until you experience one for yourself. There is serious science and technology behind these products and they could supply the user with a nice sound/sensation/vibration experience to go along with the amazing 3D visual experience from the oculus rift. Well, for one thing, CEVs like that are very geometric. Everything is all angles, sines and cosines.
So that's a pretty big one.
