I am in no position to travel the world right now. But I like to get a realistic look on things, so I dont go off into some unrealistic day dream of what I am going to once I can.

My passion is life style, I feel like living is all about the life style. I have seen documentaries where people go and live with tribes. That is the main point, living with the tribe. Eating and growing there food with them and hunting with them.

Now I am posting this because I am not how do even begin looking into this. And I want to get an idea of what is realistic before I start planning some journey for my life years or so down the line.

Have any of you gone and done something like this? If so, how was it? How did you go about it, where do you go?

I am sorry if this is all rambling and non of it even possible, but I really need some guidance. I have traveled across the world before, but that was always inside a very constricted manner. I was always in society.

I really hope you guys are willing to help me figure this out!

Lots of love to everyone,
Walter

I did what your talking about 2 years ago. I sold everything I owned, house cars, furniture everything and backpacked from the Yucatan in Mexico to Peruvian Amazon. There I lived with the Shipibo for 3 months drinking ayahuasca and learning their art styles to further my own art. I am a Tattooist for 18 years now specializing in Tribal and Polynesian designs.

I returned to the Stats for a summer than my girl and I moved to Peru again, this time for 6 months and worked. We did some traveling but mostly just around the sacred valley. I just returned ti the States 6 weeks ago and now wish to stay put for a while. I love travel and living abroad but for me its taxing living out of a back pack for the past 2 years.

What is it you want to know?

I am not gonna lie, shits gonna get weird!

Oh man that sounds wonderful! But you ask me what I want to know? I am not really sure, because I don't think I really know anything. I would love to live with a tribe like that but I am not sure how you go about that? Did you just show up?

I guess what I am wanting to know, is how do you organize something like that? Where do you start?

I have thought about this also. I always get discouraged and stay within my comfort zone unfortunately. Maybe sometime...

I wish you luck on your journey though.

IMO trying to organize something like this before you leave will never work. Just find a starting point of travel and do not make plans from there. While traveling keep an open heart and mind and you will find where you need to be. This might not be a good plan for some but it has worked well for me.

Good luck

The problem with wisdom is that it cannot be taught, but ignorance can.
