Hi all so i am quite stuck on the task of filtering my reduced acid soaks, i was using cotton buds and simply putting half of one in my funnel but this was gonna take days!
I mean it was dripping at like one drop per 2 minutes!

Does anyone have any savy ideas to filter my reduced acid cooks through cotton?

I have a buchner funnel and vacuum flask but have never used it and tried to hook it up last night only to find the hose that whent from the pump to the flask was too small to connect to the flask!!!

Whats the quickest way to filter through cotton?

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

I do the following to filter my boils
1) perform 3x acid boils and simply filter off the liquid into a pot to reduce down the liquid.
When I filter off the liquid, I make use of a metal strainer with a fine mesh, this prevent the large piece of bark from making it into the liquid.
2) once reduced, I then do another pass with a metal strainer.
3) after that, I let it sit in the fridge for a while (4 hours), during this time, the sediment will sink to the bottom.
4) take it out, and filter off the liquid.
Note: I usually stop here, as the majority of my bark isn`t ultra fine particles, as I prepare it myself, and those who have done this know that to get it to a commercial level of powder requires a LOT of work, and possible damage to consumer level blenders.
5) I place a raggy t-shirt over the top of a HDP jug. I hold that in place and pour the liquid through.
This usually has no problems going through at a fast pace. If it does clog up, I then grab 2 opposite sides of the t-shirt and pull them apart.
Alternatively, the liquid can be swirled around, but that sort of allows some of the sediment to seep through, but Multiple passes can be done.
I then wash the t-shirt under water to remove the sediment for future uses.

Step 3 can be skipped if you are in a hurry, or the time in the fridge reduced.
The above process has never been a problem for me.

Best of luck Smile

get some muslin or fine synthetic cloth attach it too a bucket or rectangular plastic box with either a bungee cord or belt strap pour on leave for a few hours once its cooled water will pass through easier. then just squeeze out the last bit by hand over the cloth.. then underneath you will have your sieved acid water you will also find a strange silty layer that makes it through so leave the water to settle aswell and just pour it off leaving the silty goo behind

edit im referring to powdered not whole bark...

Did you work it out? I thought I'd let you know, I use a fine strainer with SWISSPERS (cotton wool pads from supermarket) in the bottom. This keeps out most of the fine acumin residue out of the mixed acid pulls.
OK, Mother Nature, here's a list of all the colours. Which one should we use for the skin of Chameleons?

"Yes."
