Hello,
My name is Mike,I'm 47 and hail from Scranton,Pa.

I have yet to try DMT but one day hope to experience it. Before I even consider taking it I want to learn all there is to know about it. Something tells me this is the place. I have more then a passing interest in DMT and my intentions are not recreational. Ever since I was a little kid I always wanted to try an hallucinogenic. I wanted to expand my mind and awareness. As I grew older I started to lose that desire as I began to suffer from depression, anxiety and some obsessive thinking. Now that I am older and wiser that desire is back.
When the times comes and I get the opportunity I have a wish list (if you will) of what I would like to get out of it: a better understanding of death,a better understanding of self and hopefully more tolerance of others. Of course the experience of visiting an alternate and hopefully beautiful reality is also a priority.

Add me to the list of those who saw the documentary DMT:The Spirit Molecule. While I have been researching hallucinogenics before this, that film has whetted my appetite. DMT sounds like the right choice. While some may experience intense things I have yet to read of anything truly detrimental. At least not yet.

I am open to suggestions and look forward to learning all I can.

Hello Thefilmbug,

Welcome to the Nexus. I gotta say, I love your username, being a fan of classic movies myself (sci fi too).

We are getting plenty of new members these days who are quite experienced in life and for various reasons are coming to entheogens for answers or even coming back to them after a long break.

I do think you will like what you find here if you have some time to take a good look around. This place is quite thick with very packed information. A lot of good work and research has gone into making this place what it is today.

Given your apparent lack of entheogenic experience to date, I would recommend starting with something a little less hardcore/intense than DMT. Perhaps growing your own mushrooms, then trying some doses of various ranges would be a good start. . . .

Regardless, I do recommend growing and/or extracting your own with entheogens whenever possible. That way you know the chemist, have plenty to work with and are not participating in drug commerce. It can remove a lot of fears and leave you with the biggie - yourself.

I hope you will chose to become an active member of our community and look forward to seeing your future posts. Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Hello Thefilmbug,

Welcome to DMT-Nexus! You will find that this a supportive, informative, educated, and very helpful community.
I think it is great that you have an interest in DMT! I hope you enjoy your stay here!
Judging from your post, I assume you have not tried any psychedelics before?
They are a wonderful tool that when treated with respect (I assume that's no issue for you!) will open up many new ways of thinking. Also, I have seen some of the most beautiful visions and sights while under the influence of psilocybin, LSD, 2c analogs, and DMT (once)

Best of luck in your travels!
