Thanks so much for the info. Sounds pretty amazing. I may very well have to go there when I get to Peru. Do you know if anyone holds ceremonies at Chavin? Or anyone who leads good ceremonies on the North coast?

No worries, one tip i have for you all is finding ceremonies on the web are always the more costly ones. Most by far dont use the internet. Its best to get in country and search locally, then you will find reasonable pricing ceremonies as well as, IMO, much better healers to work with. Not always but mostly.

i was getting that vibe oly mon. those true to the path probably arent soliciting their services online. retreats/dietas online are between 100-200 usd and are obviously very commercialized

im going to fly into cusco and make my way from there

Well make sure you go to Pisac. Just grab a cab from the Plaza de Aramas and tell them to go to the collectivos for Pisac. Should be 3 soles NO MORE. They try to rip you off left and right in Cusco. The vans leave a few times an hour up till 7pm. Its 30 min from Cusco and sooooo much more beautiful and chill. I dont like cusco. lived there for 5 months and couldn't wait to leave. Its awesome to visit but living there grows tiresome. Ask me anything you need to know In Cusco. I still have a lot of good contacts that can help you out with whatever you need.Wink

yes, still working some things out

drank with a "shaman" in chavin de huantar who extorted me and attempted to have me pay for not only the ceremony of making the brew, but to then administer it to me the next night before sending me on my way.

to make things more annoying, the brew was mostly toe.

ended up collecting some cacti genetics from chavin, as well as brewing my own medicine

off to do aya with a mostly uncontacted tribe in a few days

Can you buy cacti there at Chavin de Huantar or did you have to harvest your own?

Bummer about the "shaman". I guess everyone is out to make a buck. I don't know why they'd bother bunking you with toe though since there's plenty of cactus in Peru.

Although I have heard of scams where toe is used to make people more complacent and say yes to whatever. Maybe that's why he used it

there are no places to buy cacti in chavin, but there are unquantifiable amounts of alkaloids saturating the landscape around you. the trick is, which one is the winner.

when i go back i hope to spend a few weeks hunting potent specimens

of the brew that i made while i was there i drank most of last night and came to appreciate the reliability of knowing a strain, the brew was not visionary but was intended to be so it was rather light in comparison.

Did you go through Huaraz? I'd imagine there is cactus available for sale in the markets there?

there was none that i saw during my week in huaraz, they grew frequently across the hillsides when you left town, i collected one 40 min outside town

the real trick is picking a potent one, theres no easy way i know of to know. thats why i want to spend atleast a month in chavin. so i can assay 1 ft sections methodically.
