Hi Everyone,

I was born and raised & live in the middle east [Dubai] and i can tell you psychedelics are anything but common place here. But ironically i am greatly interested enthoegens.

My roots are from India, so i manage to make the occasional great escape back home and do some soul searching there whenever i get time; recently I have a new found interest in enthoegens and have an urge to formulate my own mix/brew of plants and seeds.

Before I go ahead tell you what i am about to do, i must inform you that it is difficult for me to find a good source of plants and seeds in india, so i am quite limited to what isto available in India and what oi can find over the internet.

After a lot of searching I have managed to find a good supplier of seeds and plants; and this supplier has a few items on his menu that i feel i maybe able to use in order to experience my first DMT ritual. I would of-course need your help in-order to help me get it together.

I was wondering if i could use, and here is where i need your help,

1. Mucuna Pruriens Seed powder as the main DMT Compound [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucuna_pruriens]

2. I mix that with a little bit of a MAO inhibitor like 'Peganum Harmala' seed powder.

Here are my questions, if i mix the two seed powders:

1. Will it work to give me a DMT or DMT LIKE experience ?
2. How should i be ingesting it? smoke, drink/brew?
3. what should the proportion/ratio?
4. Do i need to add anything else?

thanks a lot for the help,

_irfan.

Hello Arcane/_irfan,
wow, somebody from Dubai..welcome to the Nexus ! I wondered how the entheogen situation in Dubai is and thought about why not to grow mushrooms ?

Wiki says about Mucuna Pruriens: "The leaves contain about 0.5% L-DOPA, 0.006% dimethyltryptamine (DMT), 0.0025% 5-MeO-DMT and 0.003% DMT n-oxide"

The DMT/5-MeO-DMT contents are pretty low but different alkaloids complement each other and give a plant a unique character.

I think it may be used for a brew but the effects would be different from Pharma-/Ayahuasca. The L-Dopa is a precursor for Dopamine and some study found it was as useful (in 30G Doses) for treating Parkinsons Disease, even without decarboxylase inhibitor (Parkinsons Patients usually get L-Dopa with a decarb. inh. so that the L-Dopa doesn't convert to dopamine in the stomach but instead converts in the brain). So I think, the L-Dopa may be pretty effective.

Combining MAOI with L-Dopa and 5-htp containing seeds might be unpleasant if you take too much.

The DMT/ 5-meo content is debated, there is a study floating around that evaluated a few dozen different types of mucuna seeds and found no tryptamines present.

A new phytochemical assessment of seeds of 36 accessions of currently used cultivars shows the presence of L-Dopa, but tryptamines were not detected in any of the seeds examined.

the L-dopa may be a nice addition to a brew on its own, though i imagine an RIMA would increase the potency so start with a low dose. im sure someone here has used mucuna as an admixture and can chime in on its effects.

Found the thread here : L-DOPA Huasca question.

Hello,

I know this post is old but I wanted to ask a similar question because i'm in the same situation...

I used to live in Montreal, Canada and was an avid mushroom user. Now I live in Dubai and I've abandoned such practices because they are no psychedelics here.

Also, I recently discovered DMT and I really want to try it. But ordering plants online is impossible.. So I thought that maybe local species of plants can perhaps contain enough DMT to be extracted.

Here is a list of some native plants of the country (it's a desert...) : http://water.heroesofthe...itable-native-plants.pdf

Does anyone see any species that contains enough DMT?

@5-htp :

You talked about growing shrooms.. I was thinking about doing the same thing. This summer I will go back to Canada and I thought of maybe bringing back a small piece of mushroom with me. Is it possible to make it grow in agar? And most importantly, can it be detected in the airport security even if it's very small?

Thank you,
Mehdi

I bet several species of Acacia grow pretty well and naturally in Dubay.
Acacias should grow pretty well there I'm sure. just ID the Acacias you
come across and hopefully one of them has leaves full of DMT.

Thank you for your reply.

As a matter of fact, you are right. I talked to my friend about acacia plants and he said that they are actually quite common here in Dubai.

Tomorrow I will take pictures of the trees and plants we think are acacia plants and I will post them here. Perhaps you can identify them better than I can.

Have you heard about the Acacia Floribunda? It is sold here in a plant shop but I don't want to risk anything...

Thank you.

Hi again,

Today, I've collected a few flowers and leaves from plants that I thought might be alcacias.
I took pictures but I'm really not sure if I'm correct.

Here are the pictures, perhaps somebody can shed some light on what species these plants actually are.

Thank you,
Mehdi
